Hitoyoshi Kyumaro's Hina Festival

Festival to enjoy traditional performing arts and taste of spring while loving plums. 4600 plums are planted on a site of about 80 thousand square meters. On the main day, February 23 (Sunday and public holiday), traditional performing arts and field dots will be held on stage, as well as the taste of local women's society's handmade home-made home-made home-made meals and local winter dishes from the Hitoyoshi Kuma region.

The annual grand festival "Okunchi Festival," held from October 3 to 11, is one of the largest autumn festivals in the Hitoyoshi-Kuma region. On the first day, the 3rd, a fire extinguishing ceremony is held to pray for no accidental fires during the festival period, followed by the unveiling of the festival garments in the evening, and the lighting of fire characters in front of the gate, signaling the start of the festival. On the 8th, the "Kuma Kagura," designated as an important intangible folk cultural asset by the national government, is dedicated, enveloping the Kagura hall in a mystical atmosphere. The procession on the 9th features 2,000 people parading through the streets.

As a major event in summer, visitors from inside and outside the prefecture visit. Fireworks are not only in the sky, but also vividly displayed on the river surface of the Kuma River, which flows through the city center of Hitoyoshi.
