On February 11 (Wednesday, holiday), the Kishu Tenmangu Shrine Grand Festival "Baika Matsuri" will be held, on February 15 (Sunday) there will be a local character festival, on February 22 (Sunday) there will be a performance of the Oto Taiko, mochi throwing, and a paid Ume Grove walk, and on February 23 (Monday, holiday) there will be a "Shukuba Matsuri" featuring outdoor tea ceremonies and performances of the Taisho Koto. On the final day of the Ume Grove on March 8 (Sunday), there will be mochi throwing, and Kamishima-ya, run by students from the local Kamishima High School, will demonstrate and sell ume yakitori and more. On Sundays and holidays, there will be experiences for making ume juice (500 yen) and selling baked sweet potatoes (300 yen), along with various other events during the period.
