Meet the Beluga Whales Famous for the "Bubble Ring of Happiness"

AQUAS is the largest aquarium in the Chugoku-Shikoku region and the only place in western Japan where you can see beluga whales. These adorable marine mammals are famous for their performances of the "Bubble Ring of Happiness" and the "Happy ‘En’ Miracle Ring.", both of which are must-sees!
At the Penguin House, you can watch four different species of penguins swim freely as if they were flying, thanks to the unique underwater viewing tunnel.
Another highlight is the "Sea of Myth" shark tank, featuring species like the shark known locally as wani, which appears in San’in mythology. The aquarium is home to around 10,000 sea creatures from about 400 species, including flying fish (Shimane’s prefectural fish) and "Akamutsu" (blackthroat seaperch), also known by its popular name Nodoguro.
AQUAS also offers seasonal events, such as Night AQUAS, behind-the-scenes tours, and the Winter Penguin Parade, which are especially popular with families.
Facilities like a souvenir shop, restaurant, and kids’ playroom make it a fun and relaxing destination for visitors of all ages.
