Fold claws SA [up]

A long-established noodle factory founded in 1909 (Meiji 42). It manufactures and sells buckwheat noodles with a unique bittersweet taste and flavor, made from buckwheat seeds brought back from the area around Lake Baikal in Russia, focusing on low-temperature natural drying. The proud noodles are priced at 298 yen for a 200g bag. Amaranth udon and millet somen are also popular at 270 yen for 200g each, and Yamase soba is available for 378 yen for 200g.

Within the vast grounds, there are traditional houses and a museum. At the Kawai Town Historical and Folklore Museum in the park (Admission: 150 yen. Hours: 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Closed: Mondays and Tuesdays, or the following day if a holiday), exhibits are displayed on four themes: the sand iron industry, horse breeding materials, archaeological materials such as pottery, farming tools, folk tools, and local performing arts. In the House of History and Folktales (Admission: Free), visitors can listen to local folktales of Kawai told by storytellers (inquiry required).

The only service area on the Hachinohe Expressway. There is no gas station and it is a small SA, but there are places where you can take a walk, and the driving fatigue is healed. You can see peafowl on the site and refresh while enjoying the scenery of the four seasons. There is a 24-hour convenience store called "Ministop", which also offers a selection of souvenir items from Aomori and Iwate Prefecture, mainly in Hachinohe. The PA on the Hachinohe Motor Road is valuable because there is no stand facility. Powder corners and baby corners for women are also installed.
