Experience Programs ｜ Takeda Area

A sake brewery with roots dating back to the Edo period. Take a tour and see how Japanese sake is made.

Kubota Shuzō, which served as the model for the manga Kura no Yado ("The Inn in the Storehouse"), is a sake brewery that has continued since the Edo period. Take a peek inside the brewery where sake is crafted with a focus on local water and rice.
If you visit during the brewing season from November to February, you can experience the sake-making process firsthand. Our shop is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., so feel free to stop by even if you're not taking a brewery tour.

Shirahama Beach

Seongshan Park

A small, projecting in the center of the coast of Takahama-cho, a park that maintained the entire peninsula. Where Takahama Castle was built during the Muromachi period, the site of the Honmaru remains. Eight natural caves, known as Hachinana no Kishatsu, are scattered throughout the park. Among them, there is a famous mirror cave that is large enough to allow a small boat to pass through, and there is a promenade where you can see the view of the cave and rock formations from the entrance of the park.

Potoku Temple

The main temple houses a standing statue of a nationally designated important cultural property wooden Amitabha Buddha. The garden, which is designated as a national masterpiece, has beautiful flowers and azaleas of the temple in the spring and a maple tree chosen as one of the "Hundred of Autumn Leaves in Japan" in the autumn.
