Furusato Seaside Park

A masonry long-sighting stand in a position with a view of the Yaesan Islands. The age of the building is unknown, but it is said to have been built for ships that come to collect the poll tax [nintozei] and other items around the 17th century during the Ryukyu dynasty, as well as to keep an eye on foreign enemies. Nearby is the 18m high Yaeyama Enmyo Observatory, which has been erected in recent years, and a 360-degree panorama can be enjoyed from the top. The surrounding area is maintained as a natural park, and hundreds of dozens of kinds of plants are planted.

About 100m east of the entrance of the Tarama Shrine, the tomb of Toyōtara Toyōshungen (Untabaruto Yumi Yushungen). It is a masonry tomb surrounded by a stone wall with an arch gate, and its shape resembles a funeral tool called, which carries the dead at the time of the Nobe-sendō in Okinawa. The grave monument on the west side is marked by a seventh generation descendant, "Chun Yu", honoring the feats of Toyomi Tsuchihara and grooming the surrounding area. Construction was in the early 18th century. It is believed that it was made by the hands of a maritime man who was exiled to this island.

Shiokawa Otaki is a sacred place located in a quiet place away from the settlement. The approach to the front is full of old trees of fukugi, which are more than 250 years old. The beautiful fukgi trees continue for approximately 650m and the views are spectacular. The forest of Mitake, which is thick with old trees of Fukugi and Inumaki, is also stunning, and both are designated as natural monuments in Okinawa Prefecture.
