創業70年の老舗酒造所。お酒を寝かせる洞窟貯蔵庫では、自分の古酒を造ることができる。5年間の保管期間で一升瓶(43度)1万500円、三升壺(43度)4万9000円。工場見学は10時～16時30分まで(無料)。

焼物や宮古上布、琉球ガラスなど、沖縄本島や宮古島でつくられた工芸品を取り扱う。オリジナルデザインの革商品や布製品なども販売。

近くの浜辺でとれた貝殻を使った貝工芸品が人気の店。店内には貝のランプ600円～やサンゴシーサー500円～、サイフ、タペストリー、箸置きなどの貝工芸品が並ぶ。各種陶芸品など豊富に揃う。

宮古島出身の佐渡山正光さんが昭和59年(1984)に開いた、宮古島で最初の窯元。島中で丹念に探し求めた土は鉄分が多いものの、肌理が細かく高温にも耐えられる田圃質の土。その土肌の上にサンゴと海をイメージした赤と青の釉薬を配した彩色が、みやこ焼きならではの特徴だ。ビアマグ1000円～などが人気。陶芸体験教室もあり、コップやシーサーなどを作ることができる。体験3000円～。所要2時間。要予約。

独特の味わい深い音色が琉球民謡に欠かせない楽器、三線。ここではその三線を、50年以上に渡ってすべて手作りで製作している。師範免許をもつ主人が作る三線は、人工皮2万7000円～(ケース代込)。月・金曜の20～22時には無料の三線教室もあるので、気軽に問合せてみよう。

夏向きの着尺として最高級の手織物といわれる宮古上布を40年間織り続けている池間さんの工房兼ショップ。宮古上布をはじめ、加工された麻糸を使った宮古麻織、木綿やシルクの糸を麻糸と織る宮古織が手に入る。布のほかに洋服や小物もあるのでみやげにおすすめ。ネクタイは宮古織で7000円～、宮古上布で1万5000円～3万円。藍染めのかりゆしウェアー(半袖開襟シャツ)は、宮古織のもので3万円～、宮古上布のもので8万円～。洗濯や手入れの仕方も池間さんがきちんと教えてくれるので安心。織物体験も可能だ。

「海と音楽と島暮らし」をコンセプトに、デザイナーが作るオリジナル宮古島土産。

A workshop located within the Miyakojima City Experience Crafts Village; making and selling items such as ancient chigaya folk implements and bags arranged in a modern style; and also conducting a glove compartment and a basket-making experience of ¥ 2000 (plus tax).

The workshop and shop of Toshinobu Kinjo, whose grandfather's brother is Jiro Kinjo, a potter and human national treasure. He opened a kiln 30 years ago when he was drawn to the beauty of the nature of Miyako and the warmth of people, and continues to produce works that combine the techniques of Ichimon Kinjo with his own commitment. There are many works of shisar made of potter clay mixed with Okinawan soil and Miyako soil, and of line carving with a fish motif unique to Ichimon Kinjo. The popularity of the shop is free cup 1980 yen and coffee cup & saucer 2970 yen. A pair of sitting lions (Shisa) costs from 8800 yen.

Coco if you buy Miyako souvenirs that you can't get anywhere else. The store is lined with pottery from Okinawa Prefecture, as well as Ryukyu glass. Popular are the original products of Miyako Joufu, and the Kagizuma and Miyakoshima Postcard Series, which depict the tourist attractions of Miyako in strong lines and primary colors such as red, blue and green.
