Ioshima Lighthouse

This is Japan's first steel-frame Western-style lighthouse, lit for the first time in July 1871. It was damaged by the atomic bomb, and only the dome part of the ceiling was built. There is also the Lighthouse Memorial Hall (Fee: free entry, time: 9 to 17 o'clock, recess: Monday, and the next weekday in the case of a public holiday), which displays the tools used in the lighthouse at that time.

Tomb of Shunkan Monk City

In the first year of Jingsheng (1177), it is said that the monks Toshihiro [Shunkan], Fujiwara Naritsune [Fujimawara no Nari Tune], and Taira Yasunori [Taira no Yasu], who attempted to overthrow the Heike, were swept away by Ioshima. Only one person was not forgiven, and the grave of Toshihiro, who died on the island, is located at the site of the Chofuku-ji Temple.

Off the southwest of the city of Nagasaki, Okinoshima is connected to Ioshima. A Gothic chalky cathedral with an impressive spire standing on its high ground. At the wishes of this islander, about half of the inhabitants of the island, still honorific Catholic, a plastered main cathedral designed by Father Maruman was erected in 1871. Later, in the wake of the typhoon and the lightning strike, the building was rebuilt in 1931 with a one-story building built of reinforced concrete using a local carpenter as a purin beam. The inside of the cathedral is a three-way gallery with a rib vault ceiling, and prayer bells are echoed in the morning and evening. The light-up figure is also beautiful and symbolic of Ioshima. No-Mazaki Property Center

A physical production center with speciality products, mainly sea products. Speaking of Nomozaki Souvenir, the mullet eggs are salted, drained and dried and shaped. It is a favorite of Toyotomi Hideyoshi and was prized as an appetizer for sake. Kamaboko of horse mackerel and sardines 200 yen each, and original Biwa ice cream 270 yen are also popular.

Narcissus Hill Nagasaki's Mozaki Dinosaur Park

A flower attraction located within the "Nagasaki no Mozaki Dinosaur Park", which makes use of the nature of Nomozaki on the southern tip of the Nagasaki Peninsula. About 10 million daffodils are planted in the three hills where there is a northern observation center with a view of the warship island (Hashishima), an eastern observation center and a western observation center, and bloom all over the area from late December to mid-January every year. During the flowering season, the "Monozaki Narcissus Festival" is held, and many people are crowded with gifts of daffodil bouquets in limited quantities on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. The landscape of flowers that shine in the blue sea, wrapped in the scent of daffodils, which has been selected for the Ministry of the Environment's "Kaori Scenery 100", is a kind of heart.

Nagasaki's Mozaki Dinosaur Park

The park is located at the tip of the Nagasaki Peninsula in Nomo-cho, Nagasaki, which is deeply associated with dinosaurs. The site, which has a total area of 130,000 square meters, includes the Nagasaki City Dinosaur Museum, the Children's Square, the Information Center, the Nagasaki City Warship Island Museum, the Nomozaki Cultural Center, and the Dinosaur Park Gymnasium. The Dinosaur Museum introduces dinosaurs from the city of Nagasaki, including fossils and whole-body skeletal specimens of the Tyrannosauridae large species, which are the first in the country. The guided tour in the hall was also well received. From the Narcissus Hill, where about 10 million daffodils bloom from December to January, you can walk to Tanoko Island and Warship Island at low tide. There are also events such as fossil excavation experience.

Gonnongshan Observation Park

The summit, at an altitude of 198m, has a good view, such that the Kanei 15 (1638) Edo shogunate's distant watch station was provided, and it is possible to overlook the Amazada to the east, the Goshitada to the west, and the East China Sea to the south. Around 250 species of camellias and 10,000 thousands of native-grown yabu camellias grow in the camellia park at the summit. Among them, the white camellia "Yano no Cape" [Hinomisaki] is a variety found only in Nomo-cho. There is also the "Magokoro no Bell", a husband-and-wife bell at Hiroshima Peace Park.

Takahama Beach (Takahama Island)

White sand coast and a natural beach that boasts high quality of clear water. He has also been elected to the "Japanese Nagisa Hyakukyo" along with the "Kaiba Hyakukyo", and you can see the warship island in front of you. Adjacent exchange facilities also provide tourist information about the southern area of Nagasaki City, mainly in the Nomozaki area, and information on gourmet and sightseeing spots can also be obtained.

Great eel well

Birch Island was designated as a national designated natural monument in 1923 as the northern limit for tropical giant eels; two giant eels can now be seen in a water tank on the side of the well.

Birch Island Lighthouse

A chalk lighthouse standing at the southern end of Birch Island, on a 100m escarpment. It was first lit in 1932. The surrounding area is maintained as a park, and you can overlook the East China Sea from the observatory. Although it is not possible to enter the lighthouse, there is an exhibition room in the immediate vicinity where a panel that explains the history of the Kaka Island Lighthouse and its work, as well as parts of the lighthouse can be seen (free tour of the exhibition room). There is a distance from the bus stop, so the car is more convenient. It is also famous as a bird watching spot.
