It is adjacent to the site of Meikōya Castle, which served as the base for the Korean dispatch by Toyotomi Hideyoshi (in the role of Bunraku-Gyeongsang). It investigates, researches, and exhibits the preservation and maintenance of a special historic site, "Nago-ya-jo-jo-bibi-nichan-jiki", as well as the long history of exchanges between the Japanese archipelago and the Korean Peninsula, and aims to become an academic and cultural exchange base. The permanent exhibition will feature exhibits on the role of Bunraku and Gyeongsang, as well as historical materials on exchanges from ancient times and the Korean Correspondence of the Edo period, as well as artifacts confirmed by excavations. They also hold free exhibitions from time to time on themes such as the history of exchange between Japan and South Korea, the history of the Saga prefecture and the Karatsu region, and the culture of the Korean peninsula.
