Takehara tumuli

It is a country-designated historic site and a representative decorative burial mound of our country. It is a circular mound with a diameter of about 18m and a height of 6m. The stone room is estimated to have been built around the second half of the 6th century with a total length of 6.7m in the side-hole style, depicting dragon and horse-bearing figures, ships, kōshashiba, and vermilion, and colored with black and vermilion ancient pigments.

Sarakurayama Cable Car Slope Car

ケーブルカーとスロープカーに乗り継ぐと、約10分で標高622mの皿倉山頂に行くことができる。山頂の展望台からは、昼間は360度の大パノラマ、夜間は新日本三大夜景と恋人の聖地に選定された100億ドルの夜景が楽しめる。館内には樹齢200年、高さ3mにもなる巨大な皇后杉の根株を展示されたレストランも営業。1階デッキ面は、夜間に光る石を埋め込み星空を演出している。

Motojo Natural Hot Springs

Kiyase-juku Memorial Hall, Nagasaki Kaido, Kitakyushu

In the Edo period, Kiyase-shuku [Koyaseneshuku] was the post town of Chikuzen Rokujuku on the Nagasaki Highway that connects Kokura to Nagasaki. There used to be a main staff, a daijōshō, and a rangago, between about 900m from Higashikameguchi to Nishikameguchi [Nisakameguchi]. The road bends at a right angle near the main shrine, and the house is lined with saw teeth. The Kiyase-juku Memorial Hall of the Kitakyushu Municipal Nagasaki Kaido, which stands on the site of the main shrine, is a facility consisting of a playhouse-style koyanoseza and the Michinono Local Historical Archives, which displays folk items, portable items from travel, and old documents. 45 minutes of travel.

Shirakiya plum forest

The Shiraki Reservoir, located 1km further upstream of the Dam Lake and Hata Reservoir on the outskirts of Kitakyushu, is a small dam lake completed in the early Showa period. Shirakitani Bairin is a Bairin that is owned and managed by a landscaping company, created around the area where the Kusagi River flows into that reservoir. There are about 30 different types of plum trees, such as the pure white "Shirakaga" and the deep red "Satsuma kōmei", which are a combination of red plum and white plum. About 500 plums bloom in the mountains. Flowering is from late January to late February. It is fun to walk in the idyllic atmosphere with wild birds, goats and chickens.

About 300 fireflies fly each year in a river in the inner city, within walking distance of Kurosaki Station. The recommended viewing point is near the Higashimizu Bridge. The width of the sidewalk along the river is also wide, so you can slowly enjoy the fireflies. In addition, the firefly festival, held in front of Kurosaki Hibishin Hall, is crowded with over 10,000 people each year.
