About 300 fireflies fly each year in a river in the inner city, within walking distance of Kurosaki Station. The recommended viewing point is near the Higashimizu Bridge. In addition, the firefly festival, held in front of Kurosaki Hibishin Hall, is crowded with over 10,000 people each year.
