Tagawa Coal and History Museum

The "Chikuho Coal Field Archaeological Site" became a national designated historic site in October 2018. A red brick-style building stands in the Coal Memorial Park, which is maintained at the "Mitsagawa Mining Works Ida Mine Site", which is one of them. The first floor introduces the history of the coal mine and the coal industry, while the second floor displays the coal mine records of Sakuhei Yamamoto, the first in Japan to be listed as a UNESCO World Memory Heritage (Memory of the World). Outside, SL used for coal transportation, large machinery used for digging, etc. are also exhibited, and there is the former Miidagawa Mining Plant Ida Pisan, and the first second chimney (National Register Tangible Cultural Property), which was also sung in the coal mine section. While walking through the park, you can see how it was when it flourished in the coal mine. It takes about one hour.

Oozuka Decorative Museum

The Otsuka Kofun is a front-back circular mound built in the first half of the 6th century, with an ornamental burial mound with abundant patterns within the stone chamber. At present, three of the ornamental burial mounds designated as national special historical sites are the Otsuka Kofun and the Takamatsuka Kofun and Kitra Kofun in Nara Prefecture. The feature of the Otsuka Kofun is that six colors (red, black, green, white, yellow, ash) with the largest number of patterns drawn on the entire surface of the stone room are used. A lighthouse has been installed and has an elaborate structure. The full-size Ishimuro replica of the Otsuka Kofun will be specially unveiled in spring and autumn.

Fruit republic of Kyushu apple village

It has four orchards on the 80,000-square-meter site, and has been opened since late August for vacationers visiting for pear-picking and apple-picking. Cultivation is particular about the taste of fruit. All takeaways are 1kg780 yen. There is also a sweetener shop and a goods store on the premises.

Roadside station

Bairin Park, Jima City

Kaho Theatre

It can accommodate up to 1200 people. It is designated as a registered tangible cultural property.

Iizuka City Historical Archives

Under the theme of "History and Culture of the Iizuka Region", materials such as archeology, history, folklore, and coal will be exhibited. Among them, there are the unmissable items from the ruins of Tateiwa, which were excavated in the city, and the ten-sided Maesankyo (Important Cultural Property). It takes 40 minutes.

Petting Zoo Picnica

A zoo on the lush Yagiyama plateau. In the park, there are many different types of creatures, such as large animal ponies, Japanese wild boars, porcupines, rabbits and other animals, as well as birds such as chilly flamingos and ducks, as well as reptiles. You can feel creatures familiar by feeding experiences and contact with chicks. Daisho Park

A park spread over Daisho Mountain at an altitude of 112m. The town of Chikuho can be seen from the top. There are play equipment such as Zile climbing, Tarzan rope in the park, and there is also a mixed play equipment facility. It is very well received for excursions and flower viewing.

Former Ito Denemon House

It was built in the late Meiji 30 s as the main residence of Ito Denemon, who was called the "coal mine king of Chikuho". It is a modern Japanese-style building that was added to the building during the Taisho period and early Showa period, and is also the place of Yukari where the poet Yanagihara Shiren spent about ten years as the wife of Denemon. Delicate and graceful decorations can be seen throughout the Japanese-Western-style harmonious mansion, which can be enjoyed along with a vast excursion garden with ponds. The building is designated as a National Designated Important Cultural Property, and the garden is designated as a national famous. You can also see the events of "Izuka chicks festival" and "Dango no Kajaku", which are the main venues.
