伊佐庭如矢は、明治半ばに松山城・道後温泉・道後公園の保存や改良・設備に尽力し、松山市の文化遺産・観光拠点の基礎を築いた人物。道後湯之町の初代町長を務めた。

昭和3年(1928)の昭和天皇正式即位を祝い、近衛師団長を務めたこともある秋山好古が揮毫した「祝御大典奉祝記念」の碑が、道後公園東グランド遊具広場内に立つ。公園内の湯築城跡は国の史跡である。

大国主命と少彦名命を祭り、昔から地震などで温泉の湧出が止まった時に湯祈祷をしてきた。成人の日とその前日に初子祭が行われ、餅まきなどで賑わう。

四国霊場第51番札所であり四国遍路のルーツともいわれる衛門三郎[えもんさぶろう]ゆかりの寺。神亀5年(728)に伊予大領越知玉純[おちたまずみ]が創建。本堂、三重塔、鐘楼、五輪塔、訶梨帝母天堂[かりていもてんどう]、護摩堂、梵鐘はすべて重要文化財。文保2年(1318)再建の仁王門(国宝)は、重層の楼門で特に蟇股[かえるまた]が美しく、左右に翼廊・高欄が巡る。仁王門の左右金剛力士像は運慶一門の作といわれる。

創建は平安時代にさかのぼる古社。現在の社殿は寛文7年(1667)に当時の藩主松平定長が江戸城で行われた流鏑馬[やぶさめ]の必中祈願成就のお礼に建て替えたもの。京都の石清水八幡宮[いわしみずはちまんぐう]を模したもので、金箔貼りの柱と細密な彫刻が施された総檜皮葺の本殿など八幡造りの社殿(重要文化財)は、安土桃山時代の建築様式を現代に伝えている。重要文化財の太刀も所蔵(県美術館に寄託)。

A resort hotel that stands on the heights of Shoya Island overlooking the Seto Inland Sea. It is a vast site with an area of 160,000 square meters, complete with a variety of facilities including a hotel, tennis court, swimming pool and dog park. Sodoshima Onsen, which springs from about 2000m underground, is an alkaline good spring with a pH value of 9.0, and it is a beautiful hot water with a smooth skin. "Olivian no Yu", a large bathhouse that draws its source, has a rocky open-air bath with inner baths and megaliths, allowing day bathing. The open-air bath in the sky where you can overlook the Seto Inland Sea is a hot spring where you can enjoy a beautiful sunset and a fishing fire at night.

The specialty of the long-established Japanese confectionery store, which has been established for more than 150 years, is Oshimanju. It is a sake steaming bun that has been loved by the pilgrim who visits 88 places on Shodu Island. The sweetness of the paste is modest, and the steaming stand with a hot taste is delicious. 650 yen in 10 pieces, 420 yen in 6 pieces and 60 yen each (all of which are tax). There are various types of soft serve ice cream only in summer.

Popular are Japanese and Western sweets, such as one local sake bun, 75 yen, one soy bun, and 150 yen, one kunsho (kunsho) bun, which was awarded the Confectionery Expo. 200 yen/230 yen per kuzumochi ice bar, which was received very well. One Wednesday-only shoe field (cream puff) for 150 yen (scheduled to be closed from June to October) is also available.

It's quiet, remote, and Shirahama swimming beaches, and can be used at ease from small children to the elderly. A few minutes' walk, there are eateries, supermarkets and hot spring facilities, making it a perfect location for healing tired bodies after swimming. There is also a park nearby with tennis courts and jet sliders (97m), which are popular with children.

瀬戸内海国立公園、小豆島の北側の中央部に位置し、白砂と松が美しい自然海浜の砂浜で、テントサイトは松林の中にある。また、近辺は海釣りの適地で、砂浜より投げ釣りでキスやベラなどの魚が釣れる。水洗トイレ、キャンプ場、シャワー、炊事場などがある。キャンプファイヤーや、ペット連れもOK。小豆島はオリーブ栽培発祥の地として有名であり、エーゲ海に浮かぶミロス島と姉妹島になっている。
