小豆島は全国有数の醤油の産地。明治40年(1907)創業のマルキン醤油の工場に隣接した合掌造の館内では、醤油の製造工程をわかりやすく説明している。昔の醤油作りの道具や江戸期の醤油製法を記した巻物など、貴重な資料も展示。所要30分。

「小豆島酒造MORIKUNI」が築80年の佃煮工場を改装し、営業するギャラリー＆カフェ。酒粕をつかった粕汁やスイーツ、まかないめし1200円など、小豆島の味を充分に楽しめるメニューが人気。

二十四の瞳映画村内にある。壺井栄の原稿や愛用品を中心に、夫で詩人の壺井繁治[つぼいしげじ]とプロレタリア文学の作家である黒島伝治[くろしまでんじ]の書簡や遺品類も展示してある。小豆島内にはこの3人の碑があるので、そちらも回りたい。

タケサンの創業者武部吉次が、終戦直後に芋の蔓の佃煮に着手したことが、現在の佃煮産業発展に大きく受継がれている。先駆者としての功績をたたえ、この小豆島佃煮発祥の地に、一徳庵を開設した。芳醇な杉桶仕込みの醤油、佃煮の販売もあり、DVDや佃煮の歴史を学べる資料も展示されている。

日本で最も古いオリーブの原木をはじめ約2000本のオリーブを栽培。オリーブ並木の散策は四季折々の表情が楽しめる。オリーブ製品の並ぶショップやレストランもチェックしよう。

小豆島のほぼ中央、中山地区に広がる千枚田。香川県内唯一の棚田は大小約800枚にもおよび、標高200mの山腹に波状に並んでいる。田には名水百選になっている湯船の湧水が流れ込み稲を潤している。大小さまざまな形の棚田には、晴れ渡る青空や雲などの景色が映ったり、彼岸の季節には彼岸花が彩りを添えたりと四季折々の表情で楽しませてくれる。優しくて懐かしい日本の風景がそこにある。また、映画『八日目の蝉』のロケ地となり、7月初旬に虫送り行事が復活。毎年7月初旬、火手と呼ばれる松明の光の列が稲の間を揺らめく様はとても幻想的。

The specialty of the town of Sunflower, the cold and delicious "Sunflower Ice", is irresistible with the grumbling of fragrant sunflower seeds. Corn (cup) 250 yen, season-changing seed ice is coming.

まんのう町で人気のパン屋さん。一番人気のパンはフィッセル明太子356円。ショップの奥がカフェスペースとなっており、コーヒーや紅茶、スムージーなど飲み物のほか、パンやサンドイッチ、トーストがメインのランチ(ドリンク・デザート付)が味わえる。人気メニューは明太子トーストセット858円、焼きタマゴと野菜たっぷりのトーストサンドセット748円など。
