Miyama oyabuki no Sato

Many private houses with thatched roofs, which have become rare in modern times, are lined up, and the northern part of the Miyama-cho district, which was selected as a preservation area for important traditional buildings in the country in 1993 due to its beauty. Thirty-eight of the approximately 50 houses were built in the late Edo period with Kitayama-type Irimoya and thatched-roofed private houses. The houses with thatched roofs, which have a nostalgic satoyama atmosphere, are still active residences where people live. The collective water discharge, which takes place twice a year, is worth a look. There is also a house in the district that operates a private house with a thatched roof, and it is a good place to stay.
