Yukio Tabuchi Memorial Hall

In 1945, Yukio Tabuchi, who was originally from Tottori Prefecture and set up his residence in Azumino in the wake of his estruation. He devoted half his life to the ecological research of alpine butterflies and paper wasps, and taking natural photographs of mountains, with the fields of the Northern Alps and the rich natural Azumi field. The memorial house houses about 73,000 pieces of work. Through the planned exhibition, they exhibit photographs and materials. You can admire works such as mountain photographs full of scale and fine sketches of Chou, which convey a delicate reverence for nature. It takes 30 minutes.

Yoshimi Usui Literature Museum

A memorial house that introduces Yoshimi Usui (1905-1987), who was a native of Horikane-mura (now Azumino-shi) and was active as the author of "Azumino", a novel spanning a total of five volumes, and as an editorial adviser at the time of Chikuma Shobo's founding. 5600 raw manuscripts of "Azumino" featuring Naoe Kinoshita, Rokuyama Ogiwara, Kigenji Iguchi and others under their real names, live manuscripts of "Lion", letters, colored paper, personal desks, chairs, etc. I can remember his life. Iinuma Aviator Memorial

In April 1937, Masaaki Iinuma, an aviator from Azumino, flew the “Kamikaze” aircraft to complete a major flight between Tokyo and London, setting the first international certified record in Japan Airlines history. It elevated Japan's aeronautical and manufacturing technology, which had been seen low until then, to the highest level in the world in just four days. The record stood across Japan, and Iinuma was not only credited as a worldwide name pilot, but also raised the name of Japanese aviation technology and played a role in international goodwill. In addition to photographs and newspaper articles of the time, there are many other objects, such as remains, and letters. It takes 30 minutes.

Rokuzan Museum of Art

The museum, which contains all of the sculptural works and paintings, including "Woman" and "Bungaku", by Morioe Ogiwara (Rokuzan), who was strongly influenced by Rodin's sculpture and opened the door of Japanese modern sculpture due to his full-movement makustyle. Also on display are works by his friends, Kōtarō Komura, Toharikogan, and Teijiro Nakahara. In memory of Rokuyama, who lived in the Christian spirit and died at the age of 30, the main building constructed in 1958 was a church-style brick structure. Together with the garden grove, it is known as a symbolic landscape of Azumino. It takes 40 minutes. Rokushan (Main Building) is a registered tangible cultural property. The "Woman" and "Kitajo Torayoshi Statue" are important cultural treasures.

Azumino no Sato

A comprehensive sightseeing facility where you can enjoy the charms of Azumino, including the Tabuchi Yukio Memorial Hall, which displays mountain photographs, and the Azumino Glass Studio, where you can experience blowing glass. There is also a spring spring on the site, and it feels good to walk around.

Azumino Setsuro Takahashi Memorial Museum of Art

A museum honoring a lacquer artist from Azumino, Setsuro Takahashi (1914-2007). Setsuro Takahashi has broken a new ground in lacquer art, and has left a number of black and gold-based fantastic folding screens, panels, and three-dimensional works, as well as lacquer prints and ink paintings, based on starry sky, mountains, and burial mounds in his hometown. On the site, there is an old private house and garden of the birthplace, which is a registered tangible cultural property of the country, and you can enjoy the taste of the four seasons.

Toyohashi Museum of Modern Art, Azumino

It contains almost 200 works by Hiroatsu Takada, a master of modern Japanese sculpture. There are many portraits of celebrities who have interacted, such as Kotaro Takamura and Roman Loran. He also taught at Suwa, and has a collection of about 2000 paintings from his life by Yoshihei Miya, who was long adored by his students. Miya is also "M-kun", which appears in Mori Ogai's short story "Tencho". There is also a garden with a center of 500 species and 1000 roses, which is open for free. Roses are seen around the beginning of June.

Azumino City Toyosina Local Museum

The permanent exhibition has been renewed since March 31, 2018, and the exhibition will be based on the theme of "MATSURI" by Azumino. Set in Azumino City in the 1950 s, the festival introduces various festivals, such as the festival of houses, the festival of villages, and the Dosojin festival. You can feel a deep and diverse culture built on a long history, created by the people of Azumino, which is also the crossroads between the cultures of western Japan and eastern Japan. And it's fun to actually go to see some festivals or walk through Azumino while looking for the Dosojin. Journey time 30 minutes or so.

HAMA Flower Park Azumino

Horticulture is seen in the area of one of the largest in Nagano Prefecture. In addition to seasonal flowers and wild grass, there is also a full line of gift flowers.
