A facility that introduces the ecology of various butterflies and insects, including Omurasaki. The permanent exhibition in the museum features the four seasons of the diorama coppice forest, which recreates the coppice at the foot of Mount Yagatake, such as Enoki, Kunugi, and Konara, where Omurasaki inhabits, and realistic flying and structural models. You can appreciate the beautiful butterfly figure in the specimen exhibition room. The area around the center was maintained as a nature park, including the Oomurasaki breeding facility and the Forest Science Museum, observation trees, medaka observation ponds and lawn squares, as well as well as the well-maintained terraced rice fields on wooden paths. From late June to mid-August, you can see the natural Omurasaki on the Omurasaki Nature Trail. Take one hour.
