Sōlong Wine Co., Ltd.

Chateau Mercian Katsuuma Winery

Sapporo Beer Co., Ltd. Grand Polo Rail Katsuuma Winery

Since its inception in 1976, he has been awarded a number of honors both in Japan and abroad, including the consecutive gold awards at the Japan Wine Competition. In April 2012, the company specialized in the production of 100% domestic grape premium wine, and was reborn as an information transmission base for its premium wine brand, Grand Polaire. Wine

The main building of more than 100 years of construction, which has been staring at the history of the winery since its inception in 1913, is full of mood. Katsunuma Brewing

A long-established winery founded in 1937. It has its own vineyard dedicated to high-grade wine varieties, and brews and sells high-quality Koshu wine using Koshu grapes. At the 1650 yen tasting course, which does not require a reservation, it is well received that you can taste several types of wine of your choice from a card-type wine server. Masaya Wine

Factory visits with easy-to-understand descriptions are well received (reservations required). The woody interior tasting room is also full of atmosphere. About 20 types of wine and juice are available at all times. Old brewing equipment is also on display, giving a glimpse of the history of winemaking.

Château Mercian Wine Materials Building

Built in 1904 (Meiji 37), it is the oldest surviving wooden wine brewery in Japan, and is also designated as "Yamanashi Prefecture Designated Tangible Cultural Property" and "Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry Modernized Industrial Heritage". In the year of Reiwa 2 (2020), it was also registered as a constituent cultural property of "Japanese Heritage". It was opened with the "Old Miyazaki Daini Brewery" as a wine museum. In the early Meiji period, the museum displays historical materials and tools of Japanese wine, including the letters written by Masanori Takano, who first spread wine making in Katsunuma, and Ryūken Tsuchiya, as well as journals. It takes 20 minutes.

Kōshu Municipal Grape National Culture Hall

Exhibit commentary on the scenery of the Koshu Kaido Katsunuma-juku and the grape brewing landscape of the Meiji period using a realistic wax figure [Rouningyo]. Herb Gardens Journey Diary Katsuuma Gardens

As many as 200 herbs are grown in gardens and greenhouses on a site of about 33,000 square meters. The shop sells potpourri, cosmetics, bath salts and other herbal goods. The original herbal tea tasting is free of charge.
