Road Station Three Fenghu

A road station located on the southern shore of the Three Fenghu Lake in the Ramsar Treaty Register. A road information dissemination center and a toilet are provided in a sightseeing exchange center that includes a comprehensive tourist information center, a specialty goods sales office, and a rental bicycle. At the general tourist information center, the guide provides fine-grained information such as the nature of the wetlands and the information of the waterfowl. The specialty sales office, which is lined with local produce and specialty products, has a large selection of specialty processed plum products, and the luxury Wakasa plum wine, which focuses on no additives, is popular. The plum ice cream with plum extract is pink and lovely, and it is well received when it can be eaten refreshingly with a modest sweetness.

The Wakasa Sanpō Jōmon Museum DOKIDOKI

History Museum in Jōmon Roman Park. The exhibition includes the Torihama shell mound, which is called the "Jōmon Time Capsule", as well as earthenware and stripping from the surrounding Jōmon ruins (the walls of the real archaeological formation), a log boat, and 70,000 years of Suigetsu Lake (Nenko) boring materials. It introduces the technology, living and culture of the Jōmon period. Experiences such as making of clay flutes, making magic balls, and creating fires are possible (reservations required). The excavations from the ruins, which can be said to be natural refrigerators, are so well preserved that they cannot be considered thousands of years old.

Jomon Roman Park

The park is located in Wakasa town, where many remains of the ruins of the Jōmon period. Among the vast grounds, there are the Jomon Colosseum and Wildbird Observation Hut, where various events are held on the outdoor stage, centered on the "DOKIDOKI Building", the Wakasa Mikata Jōmon Museum, where you can experience the Jōmon period. In Jōmon Square, you can enjoy the Jōmon culture by recreating the Jōmon period houses, the Jōmon forest, ring stones, etc. Also in the park is the Fukui Prefectural Museum of the Year.

The boat hut

This is a boat hut for agricultural work on the shores of Three Lakes, and the scenery of the Gassho-built hut and the lake is like a single picture. It is even more beautiful, such as spring with a blooming plum or winter with a snowy scene. No internal tour is possible.

Nishida Bairin

In the early spring, people from all over the country will gather in the early spring, in the town of Wakasa, the largest plum region on the Sea of Japan side and famous nationwide as the main locality of Fukui plum. At the time of the plum blossom, a "plum festival" is held to perform the sale of plum processed products, etc. It can be enjoyed along with the famous "Mikata Five Lakes" located in the neighborhood, and the Rainbow Line summit park, which overlooks the lake and Wakasa Bay.

Three Fenghe Lakes

A collective term for five lakes spanning Mihama and Wakasa towns. It was registered in the International Ramsar Convention in 2005. Lake Mikatako is freshwater, Lake Hyuga [Hirugako] is seawater, Lake Suigetsu [Suigetsuko], Lake Sugako [Sugako], and Lake Kuguko [Kugushiko] are mixed with seawater and freshwater. Because the water quality and water depth are different from each other, the color of the water is slightly different, and it is also called a five-color lake. Due to the large variety of fish and shellfish living, many fishing guests also visit. It is said that water was created in the settlement area below the three-way fault on the eastern shore of Wakasa Bay, and the beautiful seasonal landscape created by the surrounding mountains, sea and five lakes is sung in Man'yōshū.

Mikated hot spring Kirara no Uto

A day-trip hot spring facility located near the Mikata Five Lakes. The wooden-style architecture, with its white walls and tiled roofs, looks like somewhere. You can enjoy a variety of hot water, such as "Jōmon no Uto", which has an open-air bath and an inner bath, "Niji no Uto", which has a rock-built open-air bath, and a salt sauna, and women are replaced on a weekly basis. Hot springs are effective for neuralgia and muscle pain.

Fukui Seaside Nature Center

There are a variety of experience programs set in Wakasa Bay, such as snorkeling, observation of isot, and sea fishing, and indoor craft menus. There is a living display of Wakasa's sea fish and creatures of the Mikata Five Lakes, a touch pool of creatures, and a 3D theater. You can enjoy learning about the nature of Wakasa no Umi (sea and lake).

Wakasa beef's village south ranch

A prefectural ranch raising Wakasa cattle. If you apply in advance, you can have a petting experience, such as feeding the cow. There is also a goat in the ranch, which along with the idyllic landscape of the ranch heals the hearts of visitors. It's open free, so feel free to visit.

Roadside Station Wakasa Kumakawa-juku

Kumakawa-shuku, which flourished as an inn town in the Edo period. There is an exhibition hall and mackerel sushi, which introduce the history of the mackerel highway that runs through the inn, as well as a corner where you can enjoy the flavors of the local area.
