Odawara-shi Sontoku Memorial Hall (Ninomiya Sontoku)

A memorial hall in Kayayama, the place of the birth of Ninomiya Sontoku. You can see the life and achievements of Sonde in dioramas and animations, and tour the interior of the restored birthplace on the site. It is said to be 182cm tall, 94kg in weight and 28cm in size of a straw, a large statue of honorable virtue is also installed. Journey time 1 hour.

Suzuko Kamaboko Museum

A museum in the village of Suzuyo Kamaboko, where you can see the raw materials and how to make kamaboko. You can learn while playing because you can enjoy it in an experience-type exhibition, animation and quiz format. Replicas of kamaboko from the Heian period are also on display, as well as the work of artisans making kamaboko through glass. In addition, kamaboko/chikuwa hand-made experience classes led by craftsmen, and a hand-made experience class made by putting in your favorite ingredients are popular. The finished kamaboko can be eaten for souvenirs, while the chikuwaya-age kama is made and hot. It is necessary to make a reservation, but it is possible to participate even on the day if there is a vacancy.

Medicine Museum

A pharmacy store founded in Kanei 10 (1633). Not to mention the buildings that have been designated as registered tangible cultural property of the country, but also the Hyaktami Dantsu and Yakken in the store is a highlight.

Kanagawa Prefectural Life Star and Earth Museum

Based on the basic theme "The Star of Life", the magnificent history of the Earth and the diversity of life spanning 4.6 billion years. It is displayed in four comprehensive exhibition rooms, "Thinking about the Earth", "Thinking about Life", "Thinking about Nature in Kanagawa", and "Thinking about Symbiosis with Nature", and in the Jumbo Book Exhibition Room. You can enjoy a total of 10,000 real specimens, from giant dinosaurs to insects as large as beans.

Odawara Literature Museum

On display are manuscripts and first editions of literary figures related to Odawara, such as Toritani Kitamura, Hakushu Kitahara, Kazuo Ozaki. The adjacent Hakushu Children's Hall displays materials such as the Hakushu manuscript replica. Both the Literary Hall and the Children's Song Hall, the building uses the separate residence of the former Imperial Minister of Japan, Mitsuaki Tanaka. Journey time 1 hour.

Odawara Local Culture Hall

It is located in the Odawara Castle Ruins Park and collects and exhibits materials such as history, folklore, culture, archeology, and nature that exist in the city of Odawara. It also has the promotion of the history and culture of the city of Odawara through special exhibitions and organized events for 30 minutes.

Ume Mangyaku Museum Parapet Bridge Chinri

It is located in a corner of the Umeboshi store, which was founded in 1871, and is displayed in a state of pickled plum dried from the early Meiji period to the present day. It will also teach you how to pickle the plum. From June to July, you can use 1kg of plums (from 2000 yen) to make dried plums and make plum juice (4 to 5 people, reservation required).

Tsujimura Plant Park

A plant park rich in nature on the outskirts of Odawara city. The plum forest, which was maintained by taking advantage of the undulations of the terrain, is a plum attraction in the city of Odawara, alongside the Odawara Flower Garden, Soga Bairin and the Odawara Castle Ruins Park. In the season, an old plum, which is over 90 years old, welcomes the branches full of flowers. There are many foreign-grown trees and deciduous trees around the plum forest, and autumn leaves can be enjoyed in autumn.

Odawara Flower Garden

The main facility, the "Tropical Dome Greenhouse," features about 300 kinds of colorful flowers and tropical plants. In addition to bougainvillea and hibiscus, you can also see tropical fruits such as papaya and banana. In particular, the Japanese honeysuckle, which is in bloom from March to April, has the largest number of blooms in Kanto. In addition, you can enjoy seasonal flowers such as roses in May, Hanashoub in June, and plums in January to March.

Odawara Castle Ruins Park

In the park, there are the Odawara Castle Tenkaku, the Tokiwagimon SAMURAI (Tokiwagimon) SAMURAI-kan, which displays kōmaki and sword, and the Odawara Castle NINJA-kan, where you can learn about and experience the Fuma Ninja. You can also enjoy seasonal flowers such as plums, cherry blossoms, wisteria, irises, hydrangea, and lotus.
