Nojima Lighthouse

It is the second oldest Western-style lighthouse in Japan, standing at the southernmost point of the Boso Peninsula, and is listed on the National Registered Tangible Cultural Property. It was built by the French engineer Verny in 1869, and was restored in 1925, after the Great Kantō earthquake. It is 29m high and the light reaches about 31km away. The observation deck, which ascends a spiral staircase, also overlooks the Izu Islands.
