Swan Bridge

The largest suspension bridge in East Japan, spanning the port of Muroran. As the name suggests, the soft form that swans spread their wings is impressive. The light-up is by LED electric lights mounted on work railings across the 1380m-long main cable and LED floodlights on two main towers extending straight from the sea surface. These lights shine a Swan White light on the evening darkness to float beautifully.

Topcarisho

A scenic spot that has also been selected as one of the "Muroran Hakkei". "Toccarisho" means "seal rock" in the Ainu language, and the rough landscape of cliffs and rock formations 80m at sea level over 580m, and the rough landscape of the precipice woven with green spaces and rock formations in the surrounding area. It is designated as the outside coast of Meishatsu Pirikanoka Etomo Peninsula.

Cape Earth

A scenic spot that was selected as the number one vote in the "Hundred of Nature in Hokkaido" and the "100 New Japan Tourist Places", among others. The view from the observation deck, which is located on a cliff about 120m from the sea surface, is a cape that protrudes into the Pacific Ocean from the southernmost tip of the Etomo Peninsula. There is a large panorama that allows you to realize the roundness of the earth, and on a sunny day you can see the distance to Mount Komagatake and the Shimokita Peninsula of Aomori Prefecture. If you are lucky, you may see dolphins and whales from spring to autumn. The lighthouse on the cape also plays an important role as a target for ships sailing along the coast. There are forest bathing courses and walking paths around the area.

Sendai Domain Shiraoi Yuan House

It was built in 1856 in preparation for the south of the Russian power, and was garrised by the Sendai feudal lord for 12 years as a guard base. The museum houses about 300 pieces of Shiraoi's historical material. Adjacent to it is preserved the remains of the Hakuroyuan camp.

Set up in Ansei 3 (1856) for security against Russia and other foreign countries. It was designated as a national historic site in 1966 as a valuable cultural property that retains the appearance of the Ezo land at the end of the Tokugawa period. The house (price: 300 yen to enter the house, time: 9:30 to 16:30, holiday: Monday, the next day in case of public holidays) is also adjacent.

Forest of Poloto

Lake Poloto, about 4km around, lying in a tland surrounded by Poloto Natural Rest Forest. The Poloto Forest, which is a natural resting forest, has a promenade of about 6km per lap, and you can walk around the forest, which has been selected as a hundred walking walks while enjoying a forest bath. You can also experience canoeing on the shores of the lake (reception is at the information center TEL:0144-82-6755).

Lake of the Club

Caldera Lake with a perimeter of 8.5km surrounded by primeval forests such as rowan and oak. It boasts one of Japan's leading transparency, and is known as a mysterious lake with no river flowing into the lake shore and no river leaving. Note that the road leading from the hot spring town to the lake will be closed during heavy rainfall and during winter. The lake from the observation deck of the Noboribetsu Bear Ranch is also beautiful.

Oyu Nuuma River Natural Footwater

The river of the hot springs that flowed out of Ōyunuma is the Ōyunuma River. The spring quality is a sulfur spring and the temperature is around 42C in the summer, which heats up slightly. This is a wild spot where you can also enjoy forest bathing, although you can only set up a muck chair in this river.
