Nemuro Nature Center

Bird watching (6500 yen ~, 4 hours ~) to observe wild birds seen around Lake Fengen, and a course to canoe down the Bettoga River (8000 yen ~, 1 hour 30 minutes), etc. We will hold an eco tour where you can experience the nature of Nemuro.

Seilong Temple

It is a rare species transplanted from the national island, and the Chishimazakura of the Takanezakura variant. It has a strong fragrance and is said to bloom the slowest in Japan. The flowers are pale red at the time and end of flowering, and white at full bloom. There is also an old tree that is said to be the largest in the cherry tree that is 140 years old or more. 1 of the Hokkaidō 100-year memorial tree. More than 10,000 seedlings are planted on all roads from the seedlings of this cherry tree, it is also a parent tree.

Kōtobi Shrine

The shrine was erected in Culture 3 (1806) by Kadaie Takadaya, a merchant who was the founder of the Northern Fisheries Development and who opened the fishing grounds at Nemuro. Every year, on August 9-11, one of the three major festivals in Hokkaido, the Kintohira Shrine Annual Festival is held on a grand scale. About 1.5 tons of Daijinkoshi are on display at the "Shinkokanden/Festival Materials Building" which is attached to the office of the company, and guests can visit it free of charge. "Travel Mamoru" and "Fukuzanmai Mikuji" are popular.

There are plenty of products using natural kelp. The 80g 486 yen of quick-boiled kelp packed with Sao-mae kelp that can be found on seashell islands in the Northern Territories is reputed to be very soft. The 1L486 yen of Habomai kelp is used only by the top dashi of Habomai (Habomai) kelp.

Yuen

A specialty kelp store founded in 1960. A selection of products, from boiled kelp and dashi to processed kelp, snack kelp, kelp tea and kelp udon. Goods based on animals from Okhotsk, such as sea otters and etopilica, are also available for souvenirs. In the dining hall, you can also enjoy a chicken bowl with fresh salmon roe and salmon flakes at 1300 yen, and a curry with Hanasaki crab at 900 yen.

From the full glass windows of the facility, you can overlook the majestic nature of Lake Fengleng and Shunkokudai. There is also a restaurant with a rich menu using local ingredients, and a souvenir shop with a variety of local products and original products.

House of Northern and Bokago

Hokuriku-kan = Located in the "Cape of Nogoto Park" at Cape Natasafu, Nemuro-shi, the origin of the Northern Territories Return Movement, while hoping for the northern islands, a territory unique to Japan that extends in front of you. It introduces the circumstances and historical history of the occurrence of the Northern Territorial Problem by means of exhibition materials. Homes of nostalgia = opened as a home for the hearts of former islanders who were displaced from islands in the Northern Territories, it displays materials related to the islanders' life before the war, as well as maps that incorporate the cityscape and residence signs on the islands.

"Niho Ro", Hokkaido Prefectural Northern Four Islands Exchange Center

It was built for the purpose of Japanese-Russian exchanges with the wish of the return of the Northern Territories. "Ni ho-ro" is a letter taken from the head of Hokkaido, Japan and Russia, which connects the two countries. Abundant materials such as photographs, books, and maps are published in the exhibition room and theater, and you can learn about the history of the Northern Four Islands, people's lives and Russian culture. From the observation room on the second floor, you can enjoy a majestic view of Okhotsk, and on a sunny day you can see the island shadow of the island.

Nemuro City Museum of History and Nature

The museum used a brick one-story building, constructed in 1942 as the Nemuro Detachment of the Ōminato Naval Communication Corps. Out of the collection and storage materials of about 40,000 items, about 350 items are always on display, including earthenware, clay figurines, chisimalakko and other objects of plants and animals, and paleo maps. A facility where you can touch the history and nature and even the culture around Nemuro.

Meiji Park

In 1875, the park maintained the site of a national ranch, the second founded in Hokkaido, Japan. Standing in a spacious garden, the three 15m tall silos are among the largest in the country for a silo made of red brick, and are familiar as a symbol of the park. The silo has been made a National Register Tangible Cultural Property and has also been certified as a Modernized Industrial Heritage by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. At the light-up event in spring May, you can enjoy the photogenic appearance along with the late blooming Chishimazakura.
