Tozawa Domain Ship Bancho

The Mogami River, which flows north-south through Yamagata Prefecture, is a river that has carried industry and culture since ancient times. You can enjoy the scenery of the four seasons of the Mogami Gorge, its middle stream and landscape. The regular route is about 12km from Koguchi Port (Tozawa Domain Funabansho) to Kusanagi Port (Kawanno Station Mogami Gorge Kusanagi) for about one hour. There are many attractions to see, such as the rapids of Yanagimaki at a depth of 15m, which was said to be a difficult place, Gagu Falls, which is said to have washed the horse's kutsuwa when Gensuke escaped to Hiraizumi, and 48 waterfalls, large and small. One of the "100 waterfalls of Japan", the 124m high Shiraito Falls is a masterpiece. You can't miss the boat-san's Mogamigawa Funa because it pops up to the English version of Tomari Tozawa, Korean.

A road station built for the purpose of Japan-South Korea friendship. It features a building full of exoticism, and the contrast with the majestic view of the Mogami River that runs in front of you. The goods museum has Korean sweets, liquor, cosmetics and goods, as well as famous products from Yamagata Prefecture and Tozawa Village. There is also a Korean restaurant, "Seoul Bulgogi", where you can taste stone-yaki bibimbap and Tozawa-ryū cold noodles using local buckwheat flour, and "Tozawa Nongraku-shi", a direct-selling place for local sesame. There is also a spot where you can shoot in the national costume "Chima Chogori", and you can also enjoy a different cultural experience as if you were on a trip to Korea.

This cedar, which stands near Mogami Gorge, has multiple branches developing like an octopus foot from a trunk divided in two. It is more than 500 years old, and 11m is one of the largest in Japan.
