What is GD(Green Destinations)?
It is an international non-profit organization based in the Netherlands and is one of the recognized organizations of the World Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) * 1.
It aims to evaluate and manage efforts in creating sustainable tourism regions around the world.

"City becomes a classroom-circular tourism that starts with learning, connecting to the next generation"
In 2022, the city of Marugame launched a cross-section working group with tourism-related operators both in and outside the region to share and restructure the local tourism challenge. In addition, through collaboration with students, they also focused their efforts on the circulation of local resources and the creation of educational value. Utilizing a "circular chart" that provides visibility to the flow of local resources, we worked to create a mechanism of resource circulation with the axis of waste reduction and food culture.
The company has developed practical projects in line with local challenges, targeting Marugame Uchiwa, Nakatsu Manzou Garden, Tangier Cafe, Lemon Farmers (Maruku Plantation), Reoma Resort, Public Co., Ltd. Through fieldwork and model tours by students, reinterpretation and utilization of local resources was advanced, leading to the practice of sustainable tourism.
In addition, the city has developed a solution in the cooperation of government and government from the purpose of identifying the local issues that have been worked on so far, and has created a process of implementing it from highly feasible content as an inquiry learning program for educational travel, and has been linked to attracting customers.
