Oki Islands
Located 50 km off the coast of the Shimane Peninsula, the Oki Islands consist of over 180 islands, both large and small. Among them, the four inhabited islands are divided by the Dōgo Channel into: The largest island, Dōgo Dōzen, which includes Nishinoshima, Nakanoshima, and Chiburijima The terrain, formed by volcanic eruptions, is diverse and full of variety, offering an awe-inspiring natural beauty that evokes the birth of the Earth. The abundant gifts of nature foster a sense of freedom and lead to healthy skin. In ancient times, the islands also served as places of exile, and the remains of imperial palaces and residences where emperors and aristocrats once lived still convey the islands’ rich history.
