Sixteen Rahan

One of the highlights of the Qinghai Island sightseeing steamship round course. The large and small rocks rising on the sea look like 16 Alahans. The Hanazuura/Shizuura course is about 50 minutes, and the course is sometimes changed from the middle of the voyage due to weather and sea elephant conditions.

Daimon

青海島観光汽船一周コースの見どころのひとつ。海上にそそり立つ高さ約40mの岩で、中央が海食されていて通り抜けられる。観光船でくぐり抜ける時は、岸壁が迫りスリル満点。一周コースは約1時間20分、気象や海象の状況により航行途中からコース変更を行うことがある。

Sengami

標高333mの高台に広がる草原。眼下に紺碧の日本海を見下ろし、果てしなく広がる海と空の一大パノラマが展開する。軽食喫茶・カフェカントリーキッチン(時間:11~17時、定休日:木曜、冬期は平日不定休、電話:0837-37-3824)があり、ここからの眺めは絶景。キャンプ場(千畳敷高原キャンプ場、電話:0837-37-4211)も併設している。周辺には風力発電の風車も見られる。

Nogi Shrine

The shrine that celebrated his wife and his wife with the shōgun Nori Nogi [Rare Suke], who were martyred by the fall of Emperor Meiji. The house where the Nogi-shōgun spent from the age of 10 to 16 years was restored, and there is a treasure house that houses the bronze statues of his and his wife, the estate.

Hiyoyama Park

Built to commemorate 90 years after the death of Shinsaku Takasugi, the ceramic statue of Bizao ware is built to look at the Kanmon Strait, and it is also known as a cherry blossom spot. It can be reached nearby by car, but when you climb a long and steep staircase to look at it, you will be impressed.

Zenpuku Temple

Uigsuzan Zenpuku-ji Temple was a temple of the Rinzai sect founded at the foot of Mount Uiguge during the Eikyo Year (1429-1440), and was moved to this ground because of the Hagi Castle Tsuki Castle by Terugen Mohri. It holds documents that were given to the temple by Yoshitaka Ouchi, but bears the place name of Hagi, which is said to be the oldest document in which the place name of Hagi was written. In addition, there is a Kirishitan lantern with a carved statue of Maria on the trunk in the precinct.

Tokoji Temple

In the year of Genroku 4 (1691), a temple of the Obaku sect founded by the third feudal lord, Yoshitoshi Mori. In one of the Mori family bodhi-ji temples, even-numbered lords are buried in Oshoin, while odd-numbered lords of the 3rd to 11th generation and their wives are buried here. In front of the grave stands more than 500 stone lanterns, which were donated by the feudal clan, surrounded by the old cedar and huki. The precincts are lined with Chinese-style buildings, and there are a number of buildings designated as important cultural property, such as the main temple of Bengara-kunen and the three gates of Juntang-sama, the fourth lord lord Yoshihiro, and the main temple, the Daiyōpoden. The gaijin arrangement is a style of the late Ming-Qing period in China, reportedly representing the shape of a dragon.

Soni Shrine

A shrine dedicated to Yoshida Matsuin, founded in 1907. It was the beginning of the construction of a Tozo-built small shrine at the Sugi family house in Matsunin, and the current shrine was completed in 1955. It is familiar as a god of scholarship, and the Matsumon Shrine, which enshrines the mongashio, stands on the north side of the main shrine. The precincts are dotted with historical sites such as Matsushita-mura Juku, which was presided over by Matsunin and produced a number of Shishi who were active in the Tokugawa Restoration, and the old house of Yoshida Matsuyin and the old house of the Sugiya family. In addition, the history hall (500 yen) and the Shisei-kan (500 yen) tell the life and will of Matsunin to modern times. Matsushita-mura Juku, the former house of Yoshida Matsuyin Yu-Rin-no-Ku was listed as a World Heritage Site in July 2015.

Myojin Pond

Myojin Pond was created by filling the sea with lava flow from Kasayama and tidal current. There is a low tide of tide as the waters of the open sea move in and out of the crevices of the rock, and it is designated as a national natural monument. It is divided into three areas: Ōike, Nakanoike, and Okunoike, and is home to about 20 species of marine fish, including red sea bream, kusafugu, and ray.

Maria Guanyin

Shi Xun in the Kuroya branch cave within Akiyoshi-dong. Near the entrance of Kuroya, the surface is shiny with a large stone Xun that blocks in the center of the aisle. This name is given because, depending on the angle of view, the whole shape is seen as a statue of Mary holding the child Christ.
