Tsushima Nature Museum

Facilities that provide an easy-to-understand introduction to the nature of the rich and irreplaceable corner island, as well as the Beichanganmen Coast National Monument. In the hall, a replica of a skeleton specimen of "horned whale", which was certified as a new species of whale in 2003, is displayed, and the understanding can be deepened by an easy-to-understand explanation from the leadership.

Park of the Yume Sakinami

The park is located adjacent to the Kakushima Lighthouse Park. There is also a native area of Hamayu, and when the season (from mid-July to late July), white and dainty flowers are full of flowers to delight visitors.

Makizaki-style park

A nature park located in the north of the island. A promenade has been maintained in the park, and a large panorama of the horizon and the horizontal line of the Sea of Japan can be enjoyed from the edge of the cape, and the wave flowers fly in winter is a masterpiece. Dharmagiks (mid-November) grow wild in the park, which pleases the eyes of visitors. Also, Kakujima is a place where cattle have been grazing since the Nara era, and if you are lucky in the grazing area in front of the park, you can see the cows eating grass leisurely.

Kado Island Lighthouse Park

The park is located on the western edge of Kukdo. Inside the park are the Kakushima Lighthouse, which was built in the early Meiji period, the Kakushima Lighthouse Memorial Hall, and the observation gallery. The Kakujima Lighthouse is the first Western-style lighthouse on the Sea of Japan side, which was completed in 1876, and is about 30m high. As you go up the spiral staircase to the landing, you can overlook the Sea of Japan. A beautiful silhouette standing against the background of the morning sun and sunset is worth a look. The Kakushima Lighthouse Memorial Hall, which used to be the residence of staff, introduces the history of Kakushima and lighthouses located in various parts of Japan. It displays historical sources of the Chief of the Lighthouses.

Parks in Sezaki

It got this name because of the legend that Akari (yang) on the island's promontory used to protect the safety of ships sailing in the vicinity. Located at the base of the Kado-jima Bridge, it is one of the best view spots on the island where you can overlook the Kaikase Park on the opposite bank across the bridge.

Kado Island

An island in the western tip of Yamaguchi Prefecture in the Sea of Japan. About 17km around. The beauty of the coastline is amazing, and the sunset is also amazing. Since ancient times, pastoralism has been thriving, and in front of the Makizaki-style park on the east side, you can also see a grazing landscape where cows eat leisurely grass. On the west side, the Kakushido Lighthouse Park includes British engineer R.H. Standing stands a total granite-built, National Designated Important Cultural Property, the Kōjima Lighthouse. On Shiokaze no Rori-Kōdo, specialty products are sold. In the summer (mid-July), Hamayu blooms in the area around the Mumasaki Nami park on the west side.

The Demon Rock

A legend has been left that an ogre living on the mainland threw rocks in an attempt to make the island into land, but was unable to fill the strait, and at the end of much chagrin, he clutched a large rock and threw it in. The rock formations along the coast have a mysterious shape that can be clearly seen as if the demon had really squeezed.

Doigahama Beach Beach

北長門海岸国定公園の西端に位置した白砂が1km続く遠浅の浜で、「快水浴場百選」にも選ばれているほど美しい。広い浜に海の家や売店が点在しているが、各施設によって開設期間が異なる。

Road Station Kitaura Kaido Tohoku

北長門海岸国定公園の美しい景観が続く国道191号沿いにある人気の道の駅。メイン施設の展望テラスからは眼下に和久漁港、遠くに角島などの島々を望むことができる。メイン施設内には、物産品販売所「 ほうほく夢市場」、レストラン「 わくわく亭」、パン工房のほか、購入した商品が食べられるカフェテリアも。地元豊北町をはじめ、北浦エリアで水揚げされた新鮮な魚介や特産品の購入、地場野菜を使ったグルメが楽しめる。屋外にはテイクアウト専門のテナントが並び、サザエやイワシの天ぷらなど、地元の味覚を満喫できる。

Doigahama Site, Anthropology Museum

昭和28年(1953)から19次にわたる発掘調査で、土井ケ浜遺跡では約300体の弥生時代の人骨や副葬品が出土。出土した人骨は中国大陸や朝鮮半島のものと酷似していることから渡来系の特徴をもつ。顔を海に向けているのが埋葬の特徴。最も多く人骨が発見された場所はドームで覆われ、発掘当時の状態を復元している。人類学ミュージアムでは、土器や副葬品の展示や3D立体映像、パソコンクイズで弥生人の生活をわかりやすく解説している。国の指定史跡。所要1時間。
