Small picture book museum

"Small Picture Book Museum", which is familiar with Grandma Baba and is presided over by picture book writer Sako Uwaki. It displays paintings and picture book originals of picture book writers from Japan and abroad, as well as Sawa Wakiko. In the book corner, where there are 2000 picture books, encounters with the heart-to-heart picture books and stories are waiting.

Ilf Children's Gallery

The exhibition mainly features works by Takeo Takei, a child painter from Okaya. The first floor is a picture book library where you can see about 2000 picture books freely. The second floor is a planned exhibition room that introduces the works of children's painters from Japan and the world. The third floor is the exhibition floor of Takei's works. Takei's children's paintings, prints, and published books, etc., which created the word children's paintings themselves and established the world of children's paintings with the aim of creating a picture that will touch the hearts of children. It takes 40 minutes.

Toriihira Yamabiko Park

The park is equipped with a variety of play facilities. There is also a free dog park, which is equipped exclusively for small dogs. If you wear a lead, you can also use "Ikoi no Hiroba".

Okaya Lakeside Park

Located to the northwest of Lake Suwa, it is a green park that extends to the source of the Tenryu River, and is a familiar place for citizens to relax. The symbol is the Lake Water Fountain, which spews up to a height of 55m from the vicinity of the entrance of the Kamaguchi water gate. From 7:00 to 20:15 (late December to late March), splashes once every hour for 15 minutes to draw a rainbow on the lake. The night is lit up and fantastic. In the center of the park stands a monument of beautiful form. A row of cherry trees continues along the promenade, which is crowded with flower visitors in the spring.

Lake Suwa Geyser Center

You can enjoy a hot water bath drifting from the "Nanatsugama" which mimics the spout of a hot spring. There is a stand on the first floor, where you can buy hot spring eggs using hot springs. On the second floor, "Suwa's Location Review Exhibition" can be toured, while photographs and materials of "Suwa Lake Fireworks" are displayed on the third floor.

Katakura-kan

The "Katakura-kan", known as Japan's oldest qua facility. The large-sized bathhouse, which can accommodate more than 100 people at a time, is known as the "Senjin-bath." It is a unique structure with a piece of ground gravel at the bottom of a marble tub.

The main store

Located along Lake Suwa, the complex has a shop, bakery and cafe on the first floor, a restaurant on the second floor, and an observation garden with a view on the rooftop. Shops

Founded in Ansei 5 (1858). A long-established Tsukudani store that had also served as a royal clerk for the Takashima Domain. The recommendation is Wakasagi Koumei-boiled with plum meat extract and cooked from Lake Suwa at 864 yen. The refreshing taste is well received. The forbidding period may be out of stock.

Fireworks viewing ship

For about a month since late July, fireworks have been launched every night at Lake Suwa, making it a summer wind poem.
