Sakamoto Lacquer Store Wajima Kobo Long Store

There are three shops in the city, and there are affordable products by veteran craftsmen, and there are many kinds of accessories, which are well received. The small-format plate, 8800 yen, is also likely to be useful for small items.

Noranke Bus

Wajima Kobo row house

The workshops of the Oshima Coater are lined up, and the production can be seen. Popular is the experience of the sinking and sowing painting of the Oshima Coater, with the making of My Chopsticks 1500 yen and the panel 2500 yen.

Road Station Wajima

Road station Wajima on the site of the former Wajima Station. It is full of tourist spot information such as Wajima Asa-shi and Shirame Senmaida. There is a goods house selling specialty products of Wajima city and a coffee shop where you can eat noodles and other items. The shop is a carefully selected selection of products such as local sake, Izuru-Dried, and Wajima-yō.

Go Nagai Memorial

A memorial hall for Go Nagai, a manga artist from Wajima, familiar from "Mazinger Z", "Devilman" and "Cutie Honey". When you enter the building, you will be greeted by Mazinger Z, which is one-ninth in scale, and displays valuable original drawings and figures.

Wajima Lacquer Museum, Ishikawa

Lacquer art specialty museum boasted by Lacquer no Sato and Wajima. In addition to the traditional masterpieces of Oshima, the collection also includes works by Human National Treasure and members of the Academy of Arts, as well as works from Asia. The exhibition is changed once every two months. Take 30 minutes. Credit card can be used.

Waishima Kaikan

On the first floor there is a specialty Wajima shop operated by Wajima Lacquer Union, which is ideal for souvenir selection. The second floor is the Wajima-painted materials exhibition room (only here for a fee). You can see an explanatory exhibition and a planned exhibition in which the production process of Wajima paint is well understood. It is a must-see for the works of Ano-Oshima from the Azuchi-Momoyama period to the early Meiji period, which received the designation as a national important tangible folk cultural property.

Wajima Chirico Hall

Kiriko Kiriko is a large cut lantern used in festivals around Noto from summer to autumn. He is a companion to the advance guard of the Shinkoshi, serving as a light that illuminates the night road. In the Kiriko exhibition space on the first floor of the building, about 30 large and small units colored with lacquer and gold leaf are displayed. In the air corridor on the second floor, you can see Kiriko, which is usually looking up, from the top, and you can enjoy a huge torch and a fantastic Noto Kiriko festival where Kiriko goes. The third floor is an observation lobby where the port of Wajima and the Sea of Japan spread out in front of you, and you must also see the large torches that push through from the shops.

Wajima Morning Market

Except for the second and fourth Wednesdays and the third day of the New Year (January 1-3), the city that stands every day is a specialty of Wajima, which is lined up with Wajima painting. On the morning market street in Kawaimachi, people who have been carrying fresh fish and vegetables from the nearby town at dawn have opened a series of street stalls, and nearly 160 shops are lined up around 8 o'clock in the morning. The sellers are all farmers and fishermen. In addition to fresh fish and vegetables, there is also a wide variety of products such as dry goods, clothes, antiques and folk art.

Road Station Senihonda Pocket Park

It is located in the Noto Peninsula National Monument, with a view of 1004 terraced rice fields, Shirame Senmaida. Wajima's seaweed is a must for souvenirs. The snack corner sells terraced rice balls.
