Shima

It is a building of a tea house that remains at the time of its founding in Bunsei 3 (1820), and has been designated as a national important cultural property. The tea house is built on the second floor, and there is no closet or goods box, and it is unique to a fine and delicate tea shop mainly for the purpose of performing arts. When the customer sits with the floor at his back, the front of the store becomes a place for the performance, and the geisha's glossy dance and three-string entertainment are performed. On the first floor, the hearth, the stone room, and the well remain in the Edo period, and you can get matcha with raw sweets at the outbuilding, Kanmura-an (pay).
