Tenso Shrine

Shōken at the end of Kamakura as a sōjenmori of the former Suyō village, which was in the eastern half of present-day Toshima District. It has a history of about 700 years. As you step through the bustling shopping street and step into the precincts, there is a 30m high, a pair of "ginko ginko" towering, and there is also a "child child guardian dog" nursing puppies, I am surrounded by calm feelings in the dignified air. In addition to the annual festival in September and the special festival in February, there is also a "great exorcism" at the end of June and the end of December every year. Anyone can participate in a ritual in which they transfer their sins to a paper doll called "gaiyo" in order to get rid of their own sins and injuries.

Somei Garden

A palace was opened on the site of a mansion in Banshu Hayashida Domain in 1874. With an area of about 68,000 square meters, it is the smallest in size of the Tokyo Metropolitan Garden, and has many graves of famous people, including Kotaro and Chieko, Okakura Tenshin, and Futabaraei Shizō. This area is also famous as the birthplace of Yoshino Yoshino. About 100 Yoshino cherry trees are also planted inside the cemetery, which produces stunning flowers in the spring.

Zenkoji Temple

The founding of Tianzhong (824-834). In the Edo period, it was located in Ueno Kanei-ji Temple, but was relocated to this area due to the opening of the railway. It is counted as one of the three Edo Great Enma, and is also introduced to the "Edo Famous Zoukai". The height of the giant wooden statue of the Enma-za, which sits in the main hall, is about 3m, and it is a temple that is widely known as "Oenma-sama-no-ji". When you stand in the direction of worship, the image of the demon is lit up by the sensor. The statue of Enma, which rises to the darkness, is divine.

Koiwa-ji Temple (Tōnuki Jizo-son)

A temple of the Sōtō sect known as "Thonuki Jizoson". During the Edo period, a small "rei-in" is the main temple, bestowed by Jizō-son, which appeared in Danshō's dream. Some 300 years ago, when a woman who had misdrunk a needle was made to drink a paper tag "Mikage" with the statue of the main priest, Enmei Jizō Bodhisattva, the fact that the needle came out through "Mikage" was the origin of "Onnuki Jizo". "Mikage" is awarded in the main hall. There is also a stone statue of "Washing Kannon" in the precincts where you pray for sick healing, water is applied to the area where you want to improve, wash and worship. The main hall is designated as a national tangible cultural property. The lay house next door is a permanent display of sculpture classroom Buddhist sculpture works of students and traditional kokeshi wishing to recover the disaster area.

Toyoshima District Somei Yoshino Sakura Memorial Park

The park is located just north of JR Komagome Station. The garden is named in honor of Komagome being the birthplace of the Yoshino cherry tree, and the "Sakura no Sato" monument was built. It is planted with the Edhigan cherry tree and Oshima cherry tree, which are said to be the original species of the Yoshino cherry tree.

Uluca

Kanda River Bakery

A bakery based on the concept of "one dish of hand-cooked food to be delivered to loved ones" because of the desire to deliver a little happiness to local people. It uses non-additive, domestic wheat, and offers safe and secure and delicious bread.

Hayakawa Lantern Store

It was opened during the Meiji period, and the third generation now continues its tradition. In the past, all the processes such as skeleton, paperwork, and character putting were carried out by a single craftsman, but now, in order to improve the efficiency of the work, only the work of character putting is carried out here. There are a wide variety of lanterns nationwide, but the characteristics of Edo lanterns are Edo characters that are very particular. After the border of the letters, the color is added so that there is no thick gap, and a powerful lantern is created. We also accept individual orders from 2500 yen per design.

Museum of Stamps

It has about 350,000 types of postage stamps from Japan and around the world, and has planned exhibitions on various themes. The first stamps in the world and the first stamps in Japan are also on display. In addition, the library holds about 10,000 books related to the post, which can be viewed. At the museum shop, you can also get postal goods and stamps from around the world.

Zoshigaya Old Missionary House

It was built as a residence by American missionary McCaleb in 1907. The wooden two-story building is a simple one with the hallmarks of a late 19th century American suburban residence. It is the oldest surviving modern wooden-style Western-style architecture in the Toshima ward, and is a valuable residence for missionaries during the Meiji period. Tokyo Metropolitan Government Designated Tangible Cultural Property. Master Macquareb has spent 34 years in this house until his return to Japan in 1941.
