Bocke

Bokke is a word derived from the Ainu word pofke (simmering), a small mud volcano where mud and water are blown up by carbon dioxide gas in the ground, and it seems as if they are simmering. The temperature is as high as about 90 degrees, and bubbles are rising here and there in the gray mud. The place is a few minutes walk along the promenade beside the Lake Akan Eco Museum Center.
