Northern Horse Park

A theme park where you can fully enjoy nature, interacting with horses. About 80 horses from Japan and abroad live and enjoy attractions such as horseback riding, horse-drawn carriages, and pony shows. Tarumae SA [down]

Tomakomai Art Museum

A museum function is added to the permanent exhibition where you can learn the nature and history of Tomakomai. It has exhibited exhibits such as the country-designated Shizukawa Bunchroom [Kango] site corner and Hokkaido-designated cultural property and Ainu's log boat. It also holds various special exhibitions and projects as a base for Tomakomai's culture and art.

Tomakomai Science Center

A facility where you can learn about space and celestial bodies. The centerpiece is the Russian (former USSR)-made space station "Mir" (a real-life reserve plane). You can get inside, and you can also tour the toilets, which are similar to those actually used by astronauts. In addition, exhibits and planetariums that you can learn while experiencing aviation and space are also available free of charge, and are also popular with families.

Tarumaeyama Shrine

It is said that a shrine was set up at the foot of the mountain and enshrined due to the religion of Mount Tarumaeyama. In 1875, the emperor Meiji's royal decree established the three gods, "Oyama Tsumijin", "Hisashi Nochijin", and "Kanoya Hiuri-jin". He was retired as a shrine. In 1936, he was promoted to a prefectural shrine (former personality), and in 1986, he was listed as the sixth in the "Shōmōjen" shrine in Hokkaido. With the relocation of the new shrine as the Daiyo-Daitori business in Heisei, it became the Gojizan Gozenza on July 14, 1992, on the ground of Takaoka (Mt. Firewood Bilin) from Yashiro-cho.

Tarumaeyama

An active volcano at an altitude of 1041m located southeast of Lake Shikotsu. It features a unique lava dome shaped like a pudding. Hodo Campgrounds

Road Station Mukawa Shiki Hall

"Saison de Mukawa", a product house that sells specialty products such as original and processed products of the four seasons, which are perfect for souvenirs, is popular, including fresh vegetables caught in the mukawa. It is well received at the "Meitakoro Dandepo" that Shishamo cuisine, which is a specialty of Takagawa-cho, can be enjoyed only in the season. In addition, there is a memorial hall for Nobel Prize scholar Akira Suzuki from the town, where you can tour a number of exhibits and materials for free.

Mukawa-cho Hodo Museum

It displays a number of real fossils and restored models from the Mesozoic Cretaceous period, mainly in the area of Hodote, Mukawa-cho. At the time of the Mesozoic Cretaceous, the Mukawa-cho Hodote area was a sea, so there are many fossils of marine organisms such as ammonites, as well as marine reptiles, the kubinagaryu, mosasaurus and sea turtles. It stores and displays the plant-eating dinosaur "Mukawa Ryu", the country's largest dinosaur-full-body skeleton fossil, a terrestrial creature whose first fossil was discovered in 2003.
