Canteen and tea poppotei

Speaking of Poputei, Mashu's pork bowl 1100 yen. The sauce, which has been poured over for many years, is sweet-spicy and fragrant, and is tangled in Hokkaido pork loin, which has been removed from extra fat in the pan-yaki. The tender meat tangled in the sauce goes well with the Hokkaido rice "Nanatsuboshi", and the sprinkled black pepper puts together the whole well. In addition, we also recommend the 950yen of Mashu's grace ramen with plenty of vegetable flavor, the 950 yen of Yukimi ramen with local soybeans added to the soup, and the 1100 yen of Genghis Khan set meal for Hokkaido. Ekiben at JR Mashu Station and Mashu's pork bowl 1100 yen are reputed to be delicious even if they cool down.

Tsujiya Shoten/Tsujiya Shokudo

沢山の香味野菜や果実、チキンや魚介類よりじっくりとったスープに20数種類のスパイスを配合したスープカレーは滋養たっぷり。ふっくら蒸し上げた骨付きチキンや地場産ジャガイモを中心にひとつひとつ丁寧に調理された大きめ野菜がゴロゴロ入っている。じっくり手をかけて作られた子供カレー(ジュース付き)770円も人気。店主が旅して集めた世界各国の雑貨や衣料、CDなども所狭しと並んでいる。少人数で運営しているため、食堂は臨時休業の場合あり、確認して出掛けよう。

Forest Hall

JR川湯温泉駅前に立つ手作りケーキの店&カフェ。昭和初期のログハウス駅舎・川湯温泉駅を利用した喫茶店オーチャード・グラスの姉妹店で、天井が高く、明るく洒落た店内は居心地がいい。道産素材を使った手づくりケーキは350円~。季節の食材を取り入れた森ごはん1210円やサンドイッチ880円~などの森カフェランチが好評。

Orchard Glass

川湯温泉駅の駅舎内にある洋食レストラン。昭和11年(1936)に建てられたクラシカルな雰囲気が漂う駅舎の貴賓室などを利用。アンティークなインテリアと調和してムード満点だ。人気はライスとサラダ付きのビーフシチュー1800円。1日かけて煮込んだ自家製ドミグラスソースが、やわらかな牛肉と絶妙なハーモニーを醸し出している。ハンバーグ定食1100円も好評。

Scenic Cafe 900 Prairie Home Home Sweet Home

摩周900草原展望台の展望館に併設のレストハウス内にあるカフェで、焼肉や摩周産そばなどで食事できる。名物のエゾシカバーガー550円も大評判だ。5~10月頃なら、屋外バーベキューコーナーで焼肉を楽しむこともでき、家族連れに人気。バーベキュー用のコンロの貸し出し、食材の販売もある(要予約)。ビーフカレー1000円。
