Machiya Street

The main street of Miyajima in the early Edo period, at Machiya-dori, located at the back of the Omotesando shopping district leading to the Shōjima Shrine. It is a quiet street with an old-fashioned feeling, and is dotted with inns and liquor shops that are reminiscent of the Edo period, as well as retro shops and cafes using old private houses. I'm looking for a walk.

Miyajima Museum of History and Folklore

A museum using the main house (registered tangible cultural property) and the Tozo of the former Egami family, an Australian merchant in the late Edo-Meiji period. Six buildings display a variety of materials related to the history, culture and folklore of Miyajima. The garden at the center of the site, which is about 500 tsubo, is also attractive.

Tao Island Shrine Treasure Hall

It houses some 4500 pieces of fine arts and crafts, including the Heike Ichimon, as well as weapons such as tachi, which were dedicated at the shrine, as well as dance masks, and musical instruments. Some of them are on display for a 30-minute duration.

Miyajima Aquarium

An aquarium in Miyajima, Hiroshima that can be enjoyed by children and adults. There are many contact corners, and the display content changes according to the season. It is attractive that you can enjoy it differently from other aquariums.

Omotesando Shopping Street

Miyajima's main street, which is filled with many different stores, including a specialty Momijimanju shop and a souvenir shop where folk art items such as Miyajima Joko and Miyajima sculpture are prepared. There is also a restaurant where you can eat specialty oysters and anago, and a fashionable cafe in recent years. In addition, the largest scoop in the world is displayed in a corner of the shopping street, which is also important to check.

Mount Misan summit observation deck

Lion Rock Observation Deck

Second place garden

High stage

Spiritual Hall
