国宝松江城周囲の堀川をめぐる遊覧船。城と堀が当時のまま現存する城下町は全国でも珍しく、船頭のガイドのもと、水上から城や風情ある塩見縄手通りや武家屋敷を眺めて楽しめる。橋げたが低い橋で船の屋根を下げてくぐり抜けるのもみどころ。乗船場は、松江堀川ふれあい広場・大手前広場・カラコロ広場と3カ所あり、そのうち堀川ふれあい広場乗船場、大手前広場乗船場には有料市営駐車場が隣接。

松江観光協会「松江おもてなし大賞」も受賞した、明治初期創業の老舗彩雲堂の和菓子職人から手ほどきを受けながら、きんとんと練りきりを各1個作る体験教室。松江の銘菓「若草」1個もおみやげに持ち帰りできる。親子でも楽しめると好評だ。

出雲銘茶の老舗で、おいしいお茶の入れ方体験(要予約)が隠れた人気。茶道の資格を持つ女性スタッフが、煎茶や抹茶のおいしい入れ方を指導してくれる。

大橋川に架かる松江大橋が最初に架けられたのは慶長13年(1608)。松江城築城のときで、昭和12年(1937)建造の現代の橋で17代目になる。橋の南側たもとには、難航した最初の工事の際、無事完成を祈って人柱にされた源助の供養碑が立つ。小泉八雲も、このエピソードには興味を示したとか。

『怪談』の著者として知られる小泉八雲(ラフカディオ・ハーン)の生涯や思考の特色を、わかりやすいグラフィックと映像で紹介。八雲の遺愛品や直筆原稿などを展示するほか、山陰にまつわる怪談を聞くこともできる。

田部家が24代にわたって収集伝来した茶道具を中心に、絵画や出雲焼(楽山焼・布志名焼)などの美術品を展示。所蔵品には、茶の湯を好んだ松平不昧[ふまい]の愛蔵品も含まれている。抹茶が飲める喫茶室あり。所要30分。

The Kin-Kin (Meiji 10) (1877) makes and displays and sells easy-to-use living pottery. In the workshop, you can tour the landscape for free. If you apply, you can also experience painting on unglazed pottery between 1100 yen and (free shipping).

A museum on the shores of Lake Shinji with the theme of harmony with water. The collection contains a wide range of paintings, prints, crafts, photographs and sculptures, and many paintings depicting "water" such as Monet and Courbet. The exhibition is on a special theme. You can also expect Lake Shinji, where the expression changes depending on the season and time. From March to September, the opening time is extended to 30 minutes after sunset, and it is also popular as a sunset viewing spot.

A samurai house-style museum built on the east side of Matsue Castle. In the permanent basic exhibition room, the history and culture of the castle town, Matsue, are introduced in exhibits and images. It also holds the national treasure "Prayer", which became one of the deciding hands of the Matsue Castle castle's national treasure designation. The inside of the building is tatami mats, and in the free-to-enter hall, you can relax with a set of raw confectionery and matcha while looking at the Japanese garden and the Matsue Castle castle tower, and you can also see a demonstration of making Japanese confectionery by modern master craftsmen.

It is a hydrophilic park centered on lawns in front of the Shimane Prefectural Museum of Art, and is spread over a whole area along the shores of Lake Shinji as Matsue Lake Park along with Shiragata Park, Suetsugu Park and Chitori Minami Park. The landscape of the sunset over Lake Shinji and the contemporary architectural style of the museum and the sculptures in the park are woven together is the signature beautiful spot of Matsue.
