Six Wa-man Temple

Thirty-three locations in the West. Sōkō-ji, which had been opened by Kōya Jōjin in the fifth year of the calendar (951), was renamed Rokkōrami-ji by his disciple Chōshin after Jōjin's death. The main statue of Juichon Guanyin (National Treasure), which is said to have been carved by Kuya in the view of the epidemic of evil disease, is enshrined in the main temple (Important Cultural Property) and is opened every 12 years in the Dragon Year. The treasure house houses sculptures from the Kamakura period, such as the Kuyaya Jinto statue (Important Cultural Property) and the Taira Kiyomori statue (Important Cultural Property) in the form of chanting a memorial Buddha.
