Roadside Station Takeyura no Sato Otaki

A roadside station in the mountain village of Otaki, which connects Sotobo and Uchibo. There are many Yamasato-like materials such as shiitake, chestnuts, stalagmites, and boar. Yubaki

A shop specializing in raw yuba, which is attached to the factory, where you can sample freshly made yuba and jokudoki tofu. All products are made from domestic soybeans and handmade. The main raw yuba for sashimi has a soft texture with a unique flavor and sweetness of domestic soybeans. It is unusual to have raw yuba made from domestic blue soybeans and black soybeans, as well as yellow soybeans. Popular tofu that allows you to fully enjoy the sweetness and richness of soy without adding soy sauce. You can visit the factory until 13:00 (free, check required). You can also eat yuba and soba noodles.

Boso Central Railway Building

There are about 1000 items on permanent display, including materials such as the station name plates of the Kihara Line and the Sotobo Line, which operated from the early Showa period, as well as moving railway models. There are also two kinds of giant dioramas, the N-gauge and the HO-gauge, which represented from rural landscapes to urban landscapes. Otaki Prefectural Forest

Total area 61ha. A forest park spread over lush green hills. Facilities to interact with nature, such as a campsite and a wild bird observation hall, are set up in the park, and there is also a bamboo arts center where you can experience the processing and crafting of bamboo, like Otaki-cho, where crafts using bamboo have been thriving since ancient times. From the promenade and observation deck located along the ridge, you can get a full view of the town of Otaki.

Watanabe Family House

A representative residential building (important cultural property) located in the Kubo district, Otaki-cho, which still retains the image of the castle town period. It is the residence of the Watanabe family, an Australian merchant who used to keep the Otaki clan's royal money, and the building is a two-story hipped building built in Kaei 2 (1849). The books, desks, and so on are left intact, telling the old-fashioned state of the merchant house in the late Edo period. Inside is private.

Ōtaki Castle (Chiba Prefectural Central Museum Ōtaki Castle Branch)

The museum was built on the site of the Otaki Castle Honmaru, imitating a three-tiered, four-story tower tower. The museum provides historical materials on the castle, samurai society and other items from the medieval period to the early modern period of Boso, as well as cultural objects of the Sōnan region. It displays weapons and weapons such as armor and swords, as well as costumes, household items and old documents. Take one hour.
