オーナーでバーテンダーを務める岩本さんは、東京の帝国ホテルから「由布院 玉の湯」に。その際も“湯布院のバーが豊かになった”といわれたが、この店がオープンして、今では“湯布院の夜が変わった”といわれるほどの存在に。長いバーカウンターの向こうには、初めて訪れた人でも居心地よくさせてくれる熟練のバーテンダーが2人。アルコールだけでなく、隠れた人気のフードメニューもチェックしておきたい。700円～。
明治時代の北陸の民家を移築した重厚な空間に豪華なオーディオスピーカー、イギリスのアンティーク家具が置かれた、山荘無量塔[むらた]内にあるバー。昼間は喫茶ルームとして、一般客でも利用できる。落ち着いた雰囲気の中で珈琲タイムを。珈琲700円。
山荘無量塔の系列店「空想の森 artegio dining」でのイタリアンの経験を生かし、イタリアンとスパニッシュを融合させた洋風居酒屋。生エビを使用するエビのガーリックオイル煮はプリプリの食感がいい。石窯で焼き上げる本格ナポリピッツァもオススメ。
金鱗湖の裏手にある茶房。温度を変えて4煎味わい、その後酢醤油をかけて茶葉を食べる「すすり茶」というお茶の深い楽しみ方を教えてくれる。新芽のみを用いた、最高級玉露(1500円)は福岡県八女郡星野村のもので、やわらかな味わいが心にもしみわたる。
生産者の顔が見える地元の野菜を中心に、なるべく安心、安全な食事をビュッフェスタイルで提供。支払いは客の満足度や食べた量に応じて客自身が決める「いいね！食堂」という方式で運営しているコミュニティレストラン。
由布院玉の湯内にあるカフェ＆バー。周囲の雑木林に張り出すように造られたサンテラスでは、あふれる緑と木漏れ日の中、とびきり優雅なティータイムを過ごすことができる。宿泊者以外も利用可。
