別子銅山の近代化を推し進めた住友家初代総理事・広瀬宰平氏の足跡をたどる展示館と、広瀬氏の実際の住まいだった旧広瀬邸がある。明治時代に建てられた旧広瀬邸は、至るところに西洋文化が取り入れられている貴重なもので、国指定重要文化財に、庭園は国指定名勝となっている。

自然館・科学技術館・産業館の3つの常設展示室、世界最大級(直径30m)の巨大プラネタリウムなどからなる参加体験型の博物館。4階の自然館にある実物大の恐竜ロボットは15分毎に大きく動く。所要1時間。

新居浜太鼓祭りの上部かきくらべ会場として知られる山根公園。その観覧席となる石積は、昭和3年(1928)に完成。当時の住友別子銅山の社員がボランティアで造ったもの。平成21年(2009)に国の登録有形文化財に指定されている。

別子山中腹に位置する面積約27万平方mの自然公園。みどころは5月上旬に咲く直径45mの日本最大級の藤棚。アジサイの見ごろは6月中旬以降。公園内のオーベルジュゆらぎでは、ランチなどを楽しめる。

江戸～昭和の約280年間、銅を産出した別子銅山。「マイントピア別子」はその鉱山跡を利用したテーマパークで、最後の採鉱本部があった端出場ゾーンと、最盛期の拠点・東平ゾーンから成る。“東洋のマチュピチュ”と呼ばれる東平は、大正5年(1916)～昭和5年(1930)に採鉱本部が置かれ、銅山施設に住宅や小学校、娯楽場などもあり賑わった。東平貯鉱庫跡や東平索道停車場跡などの建物遺構は圧巻で、東平歴史資料館や銅細工体験のできるマイン工房もある。見学には端出場ゾーン発の東平行き定期観光バスツアーがおすすめだ。

明治21年(1888)に建築された山根製錬所の赤いレンガの煙突。それが由来となり、市民に「えんとつ山」と呼ばれ親しまれている。煙突は今もその姿を留めている。平成21年(2009)に国の登録有形文化財に指定されている。

It is a historic hot spring where Emperor Shumei and Emperor Saimei were bathed in ancient times, and is listed as one of Iyo Sanyu. The main building of the Motoya onsen is home to Ishiyu, vika and family baths, while the new building is home to Iyo ontoki and open-air baths. We accept day bathing at reasonable rates.

A day-trip hot spring facility with the image of the popular Asian resort Bali Island. Outside the large bathhouse, there is also an open-air bath, as well as a source tub, a barrel bath and a walking bath. While feeling the wind blowing through, both mind and body heal gracefully and slowly as if you were in Bali. I want to taste such a moment. Accommodation is also possible, from 8300 yen to two rooms (800 yen on weekdays).

Forrest Adventure, one of the largest in Shikoku, at the Meiyu-Motoya Onsen in Ehime. It is a natural symbiotic outdoor park that uses the forest as it is and minimizes the burden on the environment without large-scale development. The vertical movement system provides high comfort and safety, and you can wear a dedicated harness and go from tree to tree to experience a variety of activities. The centerpiece of the popular thrilling adventure course is "Japan Zip," which runs through a forest along a wire rope and glides through a row of cherry trees in a Japanese garden. I would also like to enjoy it in conjunction with day-trip hot spring facilities and tourist orchards.

At a stretch of about 8 minutes of air travel to the high altitude of 1300m. In winter, the stone-covered picnic park, which is used as a ski resort, has a spacious grassland that spreads and feels refreshed. If you take the sightseeing lift (late April to late November from 9 to 16:30, round trip of 600 yen), you can overlook the remote Seto Inland Sea, the Pacific Ocean, and Oyama in Tottori Prefecture.
