Buddha Temple

In the year of Oei 4 (1397), the founding of Haruhei Kobayakawa, the lord of Numata Takayama Castle. Kaesan is a large mountain of the Rinzai Buddhist temple school of Fuchuo Shuyūkyūji, a Zen master. Full tidal plum forest

Bushage Mountain/Longwangshan

Mount Ryuo, a mountain designated as part of the Seto Inland Sea National Park. The Tashima beauty of the Seto Inland Sea, which is viewed from the area around the summit, is known as the "Setouchi Sea Suiichi", and is also known as a cherry blossom spot in the spring. Also accessible by large bus at "Ryuo Miharashi Line". It is also recommended to use regular sightseeing taxis around both peaks from JR Mihara Station. Reservations only. Rates 2500 yen per person. Okunoshima Beach

An island with a circumference of about 4.3km. The beach is narrow but the water is very clean. About 300 to 500 rabbits live on the island. Also, the sight of sea fireflies floating in the dark sea at night with blue light is fantastic.

Senbei Honpo Kuroda

A long-established 100-year-old company. Its specialty, Tadakao Iwa Senbei, is a rustic-flavored ginger sento cake. It is hand-baked every day. It is packed with three bags of two in a box of 700 yen.

The Near End of the Kamaboko

Kamaboko specialty store founded in the early Showa era which continues to be loved locally. The original Matsukasaten 64 yen (259 yen in 4 pieces) is a dish that has an irresistible texture of chopped onions. If you go in the morning, you can taste freshly fried hot hot hot on the spot. "Takeshara Sake Kasuten" (226 yen for two pieces), which uses sake lees from Sanzo's sake brewery in Takehara, released from 2014, is also popular as a souvenir.

Takehara Machinami Bamboo Studio

From small items such as bamboo tonbo 200 yen to elaborate flowers of tens of thousands of yen, you can tour the experience corner (pre-reserved depending on the number of people) and the production process depending on the day. Experience fee 500 to 2000 yen (five or more people need a reservation).

Beach Beach

きれいな白砂が青い海に広がる躍動的なビーチ。波はとてもおだやかなので、家族連れにもぴったり。遊具を備えた公園も隣接している。シャワー、更衣室が備わる。目の前に阿波島・大三島・唐島・大崎上島・生野島といった瀬戸内の島々が広がり、条件が良ければ四国の山が見える。また、絶好の釣りポイントとしても知られている。

Fujii Sake Brewery "Sake Brewery Exchange House"

竹原の歴史ある酒蔵・藤井酒造の蔵の一部を利用したスペース。純米吟醸から季節限定品まで常時3~5種類の日本酒を試飲できるほか、酒蔵そば処たにざき(営業時間:11時~14時30分、その他の時間は要予約)も併設している。また、酒かすを使った化粧石鹸や小物、関連商品も購入できる。

Hutou

本町通りの北側に位置する胡堂は、大林宣彦監督の映画『時をかける少女』でもお馴染みのスポット。建築は、前室付一間社流造りで、竹原の小祠中、最大の規模を持っており最も古く、江戸時代中期のものと考えられる。
