Lake Shinji Sunset Spot

A sunset viewing spot on the shores of Lake Shinji where you can enjoy the silhouette of the island and the sunset and fantastic afterlights. It is located along Route 9 from the side of the Shimane Prefectural Museum of Art. You can enjoy leisurely views of Lake Shinji from the boardwalk and terrace.

Lake Shinji

淡水と海水の入り交じる汽水湖。周囲45kmと日本で7番目の大きさ。シラウオやシジミなど宍道湖七珍に代表される魚介の宝庫で、早朝はシジミ漁の船が見られる。夕日が美しく日本夕陽百選にも選ばれている。島根県立美術館から袖師町までの湖岸には、「夕日がキレイな日」のみ営業するサンセットカフェもあり、格好の夕日スポットとなっている。

Mirkesei Campground

Keykake Pass

Kookage Pass Observation Deck

Tourist Museum Kinmochi Shrine
