Kim Huashan Greenland

A quiet campsite on the middle of Mount Kim Hua. There is a well-equipped two-storey cottage, including an auto site, and a bungalow that can see the sea, so you can send your favorite camp life. There is also a forestry promenade, a rest facility where recreation can be enjoyed, and a badminton set, volleyball and other playground equipment rental for 300 yen each.

Echizen City Yatsusugi Forest Learning Center

When you get into the nature of satoyama, the inconvenience here will surely turn into fun. A variety of nature experience programs, seasonal lore dishes, mountain water baths and other natural attractions. At night, it is shrouded in jet-black darkness, and from the astronomical observatory near the summit, you should be impressed by the full starry sky, which can only see the city lights far away. This is an experiential forest learning facility, which is located at an altitude of 450m and is available for accommodation in the forest of Yasugi Millennium.

Acorn Mountain Tourism Plantations

A hands-on tourist plantation in Mount Jinhua, where you can enjoy cherry-picking in the summer and grape-picking in the autumn. Because it is house-grown, you can feel safe in rainy weather.

Echizen Washi no Sato experience workshop "Papyrus Hall"

Experience facilities where you can use original washi paper such as colored paper and postcards. With the support of the staff, we can make washi paper in about 20 to 40 minutes. There are also preparations such as pressed flowers and dyes, so let's challenge with free idea (500 yen per sheet of colored paper). In addition, a variety of washi paper and sundries such as Shushiri, origami, and shiori are also available in the "Washi Paper" shop in the hall.

Takefu Knife Village

A traditional craft representing Fukui, the Echizen cutlery; free tour of a communal workshop run by a skilled cutlery; handmade kitchen knives can also be purchased; and a kitchen knife making experience and paper knife classes are held from time to time.

Echizen Washi no Sato Udate's Crafts Hall

A mid-Edo period paper house was relocated and restored in 1997. On the first floor, a traditional craftsman uses old-fashioned tools to make washi paper. You can see a series of processes in which washi paper is made, such as sun drying outdoors from the source of raw materials. In the gallery on the second floor, various exhibitions related to washi paper are held from time to time (until 16 o'clock: about 20 minutes).

Cultural Museum of Echizen Washi Paper

A museum where you can comprehensively learn about the history and formula of Echizen Washi. On the first floor of the main building, there is also a corner where you can actually experience the washi paper in the living space. In the planned exhibition room on the second floor of the main building, the historical materials of Echizen Washi are introduced, focusing on the "equipment and products of Echizen Washi" designated as an important cultural property of the country in 2014. In addition to displaying the current representative washi paper, a new book corner has been set up in the annex so that books about Echizen washi can be freely viewed.

Village of Echizen Washi Paper

Three facilities are scattered in the area centered on Washi no Sato Street. The Culture Museum of Paper introduces the history of the country of origin, as well as washi paper, which represents each workshop. At the Udate-no-Kōkyō-kan, where the Edo-period paper-plow houses were relocated, traditional craftsmen can tour a series of processes in which they perform paper ploughs using old-fashioned tools. At Papyrus Hall, you can experience paper-ploughing (from 500 yen to 20 to 40 minutes) such as colored paper and postcards, and a washi-paper shop is also provided.

Echizen Butlery Hall

Echizen cutlery is a traditional craft with a history of 700 years. We continue to keep the process of the ancient Japanese fire-making forging technology and hand-finishing. Here, dozens of kinds of sickles and cleavers are exhibited, manufacturing process introduction, factory tour (reservation required) is conducted, and cutlery is discounted by 2-3 on the market price.

Castle Fukuji Garden

It is a garden of the Karesan water style built in the year of Genroku (1688-1704), and is designated by the country. The large holly tree in the foreground is regarded as a mountain with the borrowed view of the Hino mountain system, and the moss garden is a representation of the great sea. Tsurujima and Kamejima are arranged and have a feeling of style.
