History and Culture Museum of Ehime Prefecture

An easy-to-understand introduction to the history and folklore of Ehime Prefecture in an exhibition that you can enjoy watching. In the historical exhibition zone, buildings and streets that symbolize the primitive ancient times, early modern times, and modern times are reproduced with a full-scale model. In the folk exhibition zone, there are corners to introduce the sea, mountain, and village houses and Shikoku pilgrimage, as well as the mountain and kami koshi, which color the festivals in Ehime Prefecture. In addition, he has newly published a permanent exhibition, "Mitsumi-Sora-Umi-Kiyomi", which shows Kukai's half-life in Japanese paper dolls. It takes one hour.

Uwa Minkikan

From the end of the Edo period to the Showa era, the museum stores and displays about 6000 pieces of folk implements that were actually used in Uwa-cho. A museum of folk implements that now conveys the wisdom and thoughts of old people about festivals, life and business. In the exhibition room, which recreates the photo theater, there is also an experience corner where you can wear an old kimono, watch records and experience a foot-stepping sewing machine.

Uwa Rice Museum

The building was relocated to the former Uwa-cho Elementary School building, which was built in 1928, and exhibits materials related to rice. In addition, there is also a blackboard room, a rental office, and a cafe in the outbuilding. You can also experience a rag race using a 109m long wooden corridor (experience fee 500 yen ~).

Suemitsu Family House

The Suemitsu family residence, located in the middle of the town of Uno-cho, is a former merchant house built in 1770. It is usually a tour of only the exterior, but the building is open to the public from 13:30 to 15 on the first Sunday. The old architectural forms such as the heavy construction and the traditional table structure are the highlights.

The town of Uno-cho

The townscape of the time, which flourished as a resident town of Uwajima Domain, remains, followed by a white-walled merchant house for about 300m. Houses with white walls, Uken, Ideko, and half-shitomi tell the image of the Meiji era from the end of the Tokugawa period. There are also the remains of the residence of Seabold's high brother, Eisaku Ninomiya, and the ruins of the Okaya family by Nagahide Takano.

The Hideout of Takano Nagahide

Imprisoned in a barbarian jailhouse and escaped in a prison fire, Takano Nagahide lurked in Uno-cho in Kaei 2 (1849). It is a hideout that is located in the back of Nakamachi in an alley. This is a departure from the Rankata doctor, Hisaku Ninomiya, who used to be an alumni at a private school in Siebold. It is now a one-story house, but previously it was a two-story building, preserving only the second-story part where Nagahide Takano was hiding on the ground.

Kaemei School

明治15年(1882)に建築された、アーチ型の窓をもつ擬洋風のモダンな校舎。2階には当時の教室が再現され、明治初期の教材「掛図」などを展示している。予約をすれば、明治の模擬授業が体験できる。

Genkosan Akashi Temple

欽明天皇の勅願により開基。源頼朝が池の禅尼の菩提を弔うため権現堂などを建てたことから、源頼朝ゆかりの寺として知られる。平成19年(2007)、本堂、大師堂、鐘楼堂などが国の登録有形文化財となる。

Quaterme Treasure Senbo

湯治湯、美肌の湯として愛されてきた宝泉坊温泉を利用したリフレッシュスポット。ジェット水流やバブルバスなど、14種類のアトラクションが用意された温泉水のプール(3歳以下利用不可)で運動したり、ジェットで疲れた身体をほぐしたりと目的にあった利用ができる。宿泊施設・宝泉坊ロッジもある。1泊(素泊り)4500円~。

新鮮なミルクや卵など素材にこだわったシュークリームやチーズケーキは絶品。塩パン1個77円は予約無しでは手に入らないほど。
